Secret powers - Buda Castle art camp

Welcome, and/or happy to see you again!
This summer’s camp topics will be about your secret powers.
We will do yoga, go on exploratory walks in the Buda Castle, visit the National Gallery and the Historical Museum where we will play detectives, trying to find artworks and objects that represent inner power and self-confidence.
Back in the villa we will paint our finds, exploring what makes them powerful. We will delve into ourselves to find our own tools of inner power, and create an image of that special strength.

The camp is led by a bilingual Hungarian-English art therapist, in English. This camp is now celebrating it’s 5th year.

Enjoy playing and creating in the lush garden of a villa by the Castle, improve your English and leave at the end of the week filled up with joy and self-confidence!

This summer’s camp dates:
August 5-9
August 12-16
Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
Age group: 10-14y
65.000 Huf, healthy lunch and snacks included

Good news, people!
We will have summer camp again this summer!
We just got back from Portugal, and luckily caught the last opportunity to book a great venue for the camp. In the heart of historic Buda near the Castle, close to the Danube and several playgrounds with trees and fountains.
Bilingual program, art, music, yoga, yummy food and a lot of play - this is what awaits kids (sorry parents, I know you’d love to join too, but kids need some time without you 😄).

We are in the Castle, well into our first day of explorations. We were searching for the ghost nun, walking the cobbled streets, scanning the facades for clues... and yes, we found her!
She was hiding in plain sight, yet not revealing herself readily to the unknowing visitor.
As she is a ghost, she is not in need of immortalization. Yet, these young artists are creating her life story from scratch and thinking up why she became immortal as a ghost. They are depicting her as she is caught in flight, chiselled into limestone, on the corner of a once-was cloister.
But I shall not reveal more, you may want to search for her whereabouts and secrets yourself.

Art camp in English at the Buda Castle

Would your children like searching for the ghost nun in the Buda Castle?
Do they want to know how the people partied in Buda many centuries ago?
Would they be interested to know what the alchemists cooked up in the Castle?

Our English language daycamp offers your children these adventures - and many more.
We walk the cobbled streets of the Castle in search of secrets, and we re-animate the stories by creating art in a variety of media.
At the end of each week we exhibit the children’s artwork.

This camp will be led by a native speaking American painter and English teacher, and a bilingual English-Hungarian art therapist.
We eat healthy snacks in the morning and afternoon, and have tasty lunch in Buda’s best vegan restaurant.

Camps run from Monday to Friday, for 5 weeks.
The weeks can be attended independent of each other.
Days are from 8am - 5pm.
Ages: 10-14.

Intenzív angol tábor
történelmi nyomozásba csomagolva, játékos alkotótábor formájában a Budai Várban

Alkimisták Budán - kik voltak ôk, és hova lettek?
Hogy találjuk meg a Várban rejtôzô szellem-apácát?
A borkút vajon melyik udvarban lapul?
Mi fôtt a kolostorok konyháján?
Milyen gyógynövényeket termesztettek a szerzetesek?
Hogyan buliztak, táncoltak, zenéltek a budai lakosok századokkal ezelôtt?
Hova mentek vásárolni, és mit vehettek?

A Budai Várban tett felfedezô sétáinkon ezekre az izgalmas kérdésekre keressük a választ.
Festéssel, rajzolással, egyéb mûvészeti technikákkal megidézzük a Vár egykori lakóinak életét. Bepillantást nyerünk a történelembe, földrajzba, építészetbe, tudományba, a mindennapokba és az ünnepekbe.
Péntek délután kiállítást rendezünk a gyerekek mûveibôl.

A tábor angol nyelven zajlik, anyanyelvû mûvésztanárral és kétnyelvû mûvészet-terapeutával.
Angol és magyar anyanyelvû gyerekek alkotnak, nyomoznak, játszanak együtt egész héten.
A heti táborok programjai hasonlóak, de a tematika minden héten változik.

Szívesen látunk minden gyereket, akit érdekelnek a történelmi kalandok, az alkotás, és az angol nyelv.

A tábor helyszíne a Toldy gimnázium kertjére nézô tornyos lakóház mûterem-lakása. Donáti utca 53, 2/9.
Innen indulunk napi kalandjainkra, és itt alkotjuk meg a mûveket.

Az ebédet Buda legjobb vegán éttermében szolgálják fel nekünk a szomszéd utcában. Tízóraira, uzsonnára egészséges ropogtatnivalók várják a gyerekeket.

A táborok hétfôtôl péntekig tartanak, reggel 8-tól délután 5-ig.
Korosztály: 10-14 év.

A tábor díja 40.000 ft/hét.
1.kerületi gyerekeknek 50% kedvezmény, 20.000 ft. (Az 1.kerületi önkormányzat támogatásának köszönhetôen.)
Az árban benne van a napi háromszori egészséges étkezés és a szükséges mûvészeti eszközök is.

We had a great time with the kids two summers ago.
Alas, my English teaching partner has left Budapest.
So I skipped a summer, spent it with studying.
This May though, to my great delight I met Frederick via an online song project. It turned out he is not only a singer but a painter and an English teacher from the US who loves teaching art and English. And his students love him, too.
So I have a fabulous teaching partner now!
