Melaspas Ceremony; the ritual of blessing and purification at White Rock Beach Club.

On Sunday, 25th September 2022 marks the day of “Melaspas” ceremony at White Rock Beach Club.

Melaspas is Balinese Hindu’s ritual of blessing and purification of recently completed or newly built buildings. This ceremony is done to cleanse a new building before it is used; the name comes from two words: mela meaning bad or negative; and pas, meaning to purify or cleanse. This is done by removing the bhuta kala (negative elements) through bhuta yadnya ceremony.

The Melaspas took place in the whole area of White Rock Beach Club by the Hindu holy priest called as Pedanda. At the end of the ceremony, everyone is invited to pray together. Then, if all the rituals were completed correctly, the house will be cleared from bhuta kala and will be blessed with good fortune.
