Another great week of camp over, and what fun we had 😀 from clay modelling, sewing, gardening, baking and jewellery making, the kids produced beautiful crafts. Thank you to all the parents for your support and to the Jackie Clarke Collection for hosting us, such a treasure in the middle of the town, the children’s own secret garden, where the kids can really use their imaginations, there was secret dens, hotels and plenty of places to play hide and seek 🤣Thank you to Yvonne, AnnMarie and all the staff in the Jackie Clarke Collection for welcoming us as always.

Reminder week two of children’s craft camp start tomorrow morning 15th to 19th July in the Sean Duffy Community Centre at 9.30. Money to be put in envelope (€90) with the child’s name on it ( payment on first day of camp), please wear old clothes. Children have to be signed in/out each day by an adult. We had a great week of workshops in conjunction with the Jackie Clarke Collection celebrating 60 years of the ballina Salmon Festival, with Balloon Modelling & Juggling Balls workshop in the Seomra 🎈slime making, sew your own teddy, tie dye and bubble making. It was a great week. Thank you to all the children that came and of course the parents for supporting us, we had as much fun as the children. 😃 Thank you

What a great Heritage day we had today at the Jackie Clarke Collection, we had a lovely wool workshop with a fantastic bunch of children. We worked in collaboration with Annie Gambrill .woolcraft, Foxford Woollen Mills and Jackie Clarke Collection. We received lovely materail (wool) from Foxford Woollen Mills, we then designed a pattern and cut out the teddy, the children went up to Annie’s stall and learned all about where the wool comes from and how the sheep’s wool is turned into yearn, then down to the Jackie Clarke Collection where the children sewed there own teddy and stuffed it with wool from Annie. The finished results were fantastic. Well done to all the children on a job well done. Thank you Annie Gambrill .woolcraft, Foxford Woollen Mills @ Jackie Clarke Collection.

First week of craft camp over, the weather might not have been great but it didn’t stop us having fun. We had a lovely group of children that created beautiful crafts. Thank you to all the parents for your support and entrusting your children into our care. Looking forward to the next few weeks. We are in the @ Jackie Clarke Collection this week for the Ballina Salmon Festival, looking forward to a great week ahead.

Looking forward to all the events next week 😀 Ballina Salmon Festival - Mayo

Well we are gearing up for a busy week next week for the 60th Anniversary of the Ballina Salmon Festival - Mayo. All week we have the fantastic Pandora’s Box workshops run by our good friends at the Ballina Costume Company including a traditional Woolcraft Workshop on Heritage Day supported by Killala Woolcraft and FOXFORD. The very special Uilleann Pipes belonging to Eamonn Ceannt are making a welcome return to the collection. There will be old world school games all week on Walsh Street and music in the garden by The Core Mayo and a junior disco on Friday 12th. On Heritage Day we have the Mount Falcon Estate Birds of Prey at 12pm, two special Military vehicles visiting us from the Óglaigh na hÉireann / Irish Defence Forces. We also have two amazing Irish artists running workshops on the day, celebrating our great language, traditions and folklore, the great Eddie Lenihan and Irish With Mollie. So make sure you come in and see us here at the Jackie Clarke Collection during the Ballina Salmon Festival / Heritage Day 2024, we look forward to welcoming you all!

We are very excited to be working with Annie Gambrill, Foxford Woollen Mills and Jackie Clarke Collection on this lovely project celebrating 60 years of the Ballina Salmon Festival - Mayo

As part of our programme events of for the Ballina Salmon Festival - Mayo and in partnership with Ballina Costume Company Killala Woolcraft and FOXFORD the Jackie Clarke Collection is hosting a very special workshop on Heritage Day, Wednesday 10th July 2024! The Heritage Woolcraft workshop explores the art of turning wool into cloth using techniques handed down by our ancestors. The workshop starts out in Pearse Street at 11am before moving to the JCC garden room where participants will learn how to sew and stuff their own teddy using the spun yarn. Spaces are limited so call the Jackie Clarke Collection on (096) 73508 between 10am and 5pm Tuesday to Saturday to book you place now.

*Please Note - This workshop is suitable for children aged 5+, fee is €8 per person and this event will be photographed*

Here at the Jackie Clarke Collection in association with our friends from the Ballina Costume Company we are delighted to announce Pandora’s Box of Adventures 2024, a full programme of activities for the Ballina Salmon Festival - Mayo . Here is the full timetable of the events taking place, please note that booking is required for some of the children's events and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so don't delay! Due to the tremendous popularity of the workshops and to ensure as many children as possible get the chance to participate we have had to limit spaces to a maximum of two workshops per child. If you wish to book a place please call us here at the Jackie Clarke Collection on 096 73508 during our opening hours, Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 5pm.

And that’s a wrap for the Easter, another great week at camp last week with a lovely bunch of children. They made fabulous bags and pencil cases, painting, lovely art work and of course had great fun baking. We also had another Birthday this week which of course the children love as they get to have a party and make a cake 🤣 Ceola turned 5 so Happy Birthday Ceola,. As always thank you to all of the parents for your continued support, we really appreciate it. To Willie, John and Sean in the Sean Duffy Community Centre thank you, such a great facility to have.
