–The Ballina Costume Company proudly announces the completion of the St. Bridget Cloak, a remarkable collaborative project showcasing the talent and generosity of the Ballina community. Partnering with the Jackie Clarke Collection, This breathtaking piece is the result of a remarkable community effort, Originally launched last year to celebrate St. Bridget's Day, the project received an overwhelming response, with hundreds of additional squares donated. Thanks to the tireless work of volunteers, the support of the Jackie Clarke Collection, and the collaborative spirit of our community, we've finally finished the cloak just in time for today's celebration! We were delighted to be joined by teachers and students from Moyne College Ballina, who will be collaborating with us on our next project. This cloak is a testament to the power of community and the beauty of handcrafted artistry."

How much do you know about the history and skills behind the St Brigid's Day Cross? Well here at the Jackie Clarke Collection we are delighted to be able to present an open workshop on this very subject. Join us on Thursday 30th January 2025 from 3pm until 4pm. The workshop is run by Mervyn and Margaret Ennis, who in 2004 attended a demonstration by Pauric O Brudair. Pauric, a native of Belmullet gave a demonstration on making a variety of traditional St Brigid’s Crosses in Saggart, Co Dublin. Mervyn and Margaret have continued making the crosses for the past 21 years and donate the proceeds to charity. This year they are returning the tradition they learned from Pauric to his native Mayo. Mervyn is a retired Principle Social worker with the Defence Forces and in retirement he has developed a passion for local history. So why not pop along on Thursday and learn all about the St Brigid's Cross and maybe have a go at making your own. We look forward to seeing you there!

Calling all the ladies that were involved, we need your help to finish the St. Brigid’s cape, the plan is to have it finished for St Brigid’s day, looking forward to seeing you all.

**CALLING ALL CRAFTERS**

Calling on all our lovely local crafters who were involved in the original creation of our beautiful St Brigid's Day Cloak. We need your help again to complete the final finishing of the garment so if you can spare us the time and are free on Thursday 23rd January at 11.30 to come down to the Jackie Clarke Collection and meet with us and our good friends from the Ballina Costume Company to complete the cloak we would be most grateful! Any crafters that were not originally involved but who would still like to be included please come along, you will be most welcome! Whilst you are here we will be unveiling some new ideas for community projects that we would love to share with you and hopefully you will be interested in joining. So thank you all in advance we look forward to seeing you all next week!

We've loved seeing the creativity shine through in your pantomimes, plays, musicals, and school productions, and it's been a joy sharing our craft classes with both children and adults. Finally getting around to posting
some photos from our final children's craft camp of 2024! A huge thank you to all the parents for your incredible support this year. It's been a joy watching your children create such beautiful crafts and have so much fun. We also want to thank the children for their amazing creativity and energy – you were all fantastic! A special thank you to Yvonne and Annmarie and all the crew at the Jackie Clarke Collection, and to our wonderful staff, whose support makes everything possible.
