Really looking forward to getting back to class tomorrow and looking forward to seeing new faces and welcoming back old friends.
Our Clonmel course is Floriculture. It’s the study of indoor plants and runs until Christmas.
It’s a deep dive into some of our favourite house plants. This is Bob my Boston fern 🌿
Having a good knowledge of indoor plants is very important in the floristry industry as they go side by side.
We are also back to class in Roscrea on Friday and I’m really looking forward to that too.
We will be starting Retail display ( floristry ) and work experience ( floristry )
This is a real fun module with all kinds of exciting plans ahead.

Great news today. I got the date for our Autumnal work shop.
Once again we are using the beautiful hall in Clogheen.

🍁 1.30 to 5.30
🍁 All materials supplied

On the day you will be asked to bring a scissors. Everything else will be provided for you.
We will start off making an Autumnal flower arrangement.
We will then break and have Tea / coffee and our famous freshly baked goods 🧁
We will then get back to work and make a
luchious autumnal wreath for your front door.
When it’s time to head home you will be going home with your hands full with your masterpieces.
It’s a great day out with a laugh along the way.
No experience necessary. You will have a step by step guide.

Recently completed a floristry course with Jean in association with the . She was a fantastic tutor , very thorough in imparting knowledge, very knowledgeable, creative & experienced with a great sense of humour & style of tutoring. I learned a lot & enjoyed every second of the accredited course. I look forward to her tuition again in the future. I can only imagine how entertaining her workshops would be. Thanks Jean - you were a complete pleasure & I loved all our creations with beautiful flowers .

Good afternoon. I’m sorry for being so quite here lately !
Just to let you know that there are so many things going on behind the scenes.
Planning and preparing for the last 2 weddings of the year. Chatting to brides for 2025 weddings.

Prepping to head back to Clonmel and Roscrea with the Tipperary Education and Training Board with some lovely new courses and to meet the lovely new learners.

What a pleasure it is to go back to a family home to deliver a wedding. A couple of years before I did Siobhan’s sisters wedding and I was welcomed today like an old friend. The buzz in the house was electric. I wanted to stay !!
I love the mix Siobhan decided to go for and it looked stunning in the church. Photos don’t do it justice.

Today marks the last day of our classes in Clonmel. Big thank you to this lovely bunch of ladies as they finished their last two exams today. These ladies have put in a serious amount of work in the last 6 months as they studied Retail Floristry and Design skills. It has been a pleasure to work with you all and I know we will stay in touch. For now enjoy the summer and I will see some of you back in September.

National Florist Day
As I explained yesterday June 8th is a big deal for us florists 🌸
It is the first ever National florist day in Ireland and the UK. Time to recognise our wonderful trade. I am delighted to be involved with over a 1,000 other florists.
I am a second generation florist. Following in the footsteps of my Mum. I grew up helping in my Mums flower shop and also was lucky enough to grow up on a Rose Nursery and Garden Center.
I now freelance and I am an Adult Educator teaching with the ETB Education train board.
I just love passing on our wonder trade to people teaching Retail Floristry / Design Skills with wedding planning / Floriculture ( in door plants ) and more to come. So to all my florist friends and students make sure to mark June 8th Saturday in some way.
Floristry is a wonderful trade that never leaves you.

On June 8th something special is happening, its spreading across the country like wild fire, so many different things happening throughout the floral world. We are having our 1st ever National Florist day!
This day is to bring awareness to the industry, aimed at celebrating and promoting the remarkable contributions of the floral industry and the talented individuals who work within it. This is not just for the Florists but it's also for the wholesalers, floral assistants, students, delivery drivers, event specialists, designers, bloggers, teachers and ANYONE who works within this industry, this day for you.

Congratulations Mary Ellen and Paddy on their special day last Friday. The sun was splitting the stones Duhill church looked beautiful. We had a beautiful selection on peaces / pinks / creams and some lovely Eryngium thistle to bring in a blue tone. The colours went beautifully with the green bridesmaids dresses. I look forward to more photos to follow. 🌸

We had a great day at class today. We worked on our design skills course and made some beautiful pieces. These will be displayed for you all to see at our open day in Clonmel on Thursday. So come along and have a chat. We can tell you all about the courses available to you. The ETB have a fabulous range of full time and part time courses. You will be spoilt for choice. You can also come along and say hello to me too ! I will explain what floristry courses are available. Tipperary Education and Training Board

Lots of you have asked me for more details on courses available to you from the ETB
Tipperary Education and Training Board have so many courses available to everyone. Incase you haven’t heard they are having open days around the county in the coming days.
This Thursday is Roscrea’s open day. I will be there to explain what courses I am involved in and show you some lovely flowers on the day.
Clonmel will have their open day on Thursday the 25th and I will also be there with some lovely displays from our design skills course.
