The FAI Club Mark programme received a further boost this week as the Football Association of Ireland, in partnership with Healthy Ireland, announced the launch of the Walking Tracks Ireland fund, with a total allocation of €500,000.

Week 3 of camps went well with weather holding up extremely well for the week here in Ballinamore with 92 kids happy to be out improving there skills for 3 hours a day 👌🏼⚽️

🎓 FAI Coach Development PDP1

⚽️ Well done to the 25 coaches from Sligo and Mayo who completed the PDP1 course this weekend.

🏟️ Thanks to Neil and all Kilglass Enniscrone United Football Club for allowing use of Michael McGowan Park for course in the fantastic venue

👉 Part of this course saw a Player Education Development programme launched to allow players aged between 16-18 years of age playing in the Sligo Leitrim Schoolboys & Schoolgirls League -PRO opportunity to start their coach development journey. Well done to all our young players in Sligo and Mayo who started their journey yesterday.

The Football Association of Ireland is thrilled to announce the launch of Referee Month, set to take place throughout July 2024. In celebration of the essential role referees play in sports, the FAI is offering free in-person referee beginner courses in every region across the country. This initiative follows on from last year’s inaugural ‘Referee Week’ which saw over 250 new referees trained.

Referee Month will provide aspiring referees with the knowledge and skills needed to be able to referee grassroots football matches safely and effectively. To sign up for a course click on www.becomearef.ie or check the MyComet app.

Two lucky girls, Luisa and Heidi, from our Disney Playmakers programme were thrilled to win a competition which saw them attend the Irish premier of Disney's "Inside Out 2" at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin on Tuesday last! Hope ye had a great night girls!

The Disney Playmakers programme is a wonderful system from the FAI which is designed for girls from 5-8 years of age to set them on their journey in soccer through the magical world of Disney! 🤩👏

Good luck to all the players and staff this week as it is the turn of the boys as the Kennedy Cup kicks off this evening following from the girl’s great week last week. Hopefully another week of amazing experiences and memories this week in Limerick for the players across Sligo/Leitrim.

Carrick Town F.C. will run FAI Cadbury Kick Fit programme is a fun and non-competitive recreational social programme for women aged 18+, with no experience necessary. While the primary aim of this programme is to keep fit and create a social group. The programme will run for 8 weeks, with one-hour sessions per week. Register to your Cadbury Kick Fit venue below.

⚽️ Another day in the sun at Umbro Park, Milebush, Castlebar as FAI Schools Primary 5s Boys Connacht Finals took place today.

🟢🟡 The Leitrim representatives were:
Fenagh NS
Scoil Chlann Naofa NS
Scoile Mhuire, Carrick on Shannon

👏 Well done to all the boys from each of the schools for their performances throughout the competition.

🥈 Congratulations to Fenagh NS who finished up as the FAI Connacht Boys A Cup Runner’s Up with some fantastic performances in a very competitive section. Outstanding achievement for the schools and well done to all the boys and Mr Gordon on doing the school and county proud.

💚 The supporters of the day award has to go to Scoil Chlann Naofa NS for their fantastic support from the sidelines for their boys with non stop cheering and waving of their signs to create a fantastic atmosphere.

The schools who made it through the North and South Leitrim Qualifiers descended on Manorhamilton Rangers AFC couple of weeks ago to reach the conclusion of the Leitrim finals ⚽️

Thank you once again to Bernie and Joe and all in Manorhamilton Rangers for hosting. 👏

Congratulations and best of luck to all the schools below who will represent Leitrim at the Connaught Finals in Castlebar with the Girls teams in action tomorrow followed by the boys sections on Thursday👏

This is a fundraiser for the u14 Sligo Leitrim Schoolboys & Schoolgirls League players selected to represent the Sligo-Leitrim league in the week long Kennedy and Gaynor Cup tournament taking place in University of Limerick Sports Facility this June.

With 40 players selected (20 Boys for the Kennedy Cup) and (20 Girls for the Gaynor Cup).
This is the main fundraiser for both squads and with the week costing almost €11,000 for both squads registration, accommodation, travel and food in Limerick we would be delighted if you could donate anything big or small using the link below.
