For some reason I thought it would be a great idea to greet A&C’s international guests in each of their over 20 mother tongues. Unfortunately I never got the phonetical spellings of each of them so with the help of Google translate, I chanced my arm!! I have used many of them before for previous weddings but ones like Greek and Cornish were definitely new for me.
Missing from the video are my Arabic and Ethiopian attempts!
I do love a challenge (and a laugh!!)

Quick video from Fitzwilliam place where I conducted the wedding of A&M who wanted a casual, informal short 20-30 minute ceremony.
Music was from John Keogh and Matthew O’Connell on guitars and @twosouls.ie were taking photos with @joeyryanfilms as videographer.

This video is ridiculous. There was a storm, there were so many tourists, there were hotel staff and then there was me, trying to film this fancy people carrier for no real reason but to say - “this is cool”
@chauffeursonline have this great larger car to fit an entire wedding party, so that all of you can arrive in style.

ROMANTIC TIME CAPSULE.
Such a lovely way to start a new tradition as a married couple - creating your very own romantic time capsule on your wedding day. This couple actually placed their vows inside the capsule and planned to open it on their 1st wedding anniversary- the Paper Anniversary. I suggest then that they re-write their vows or love letters to one another annually, preferably before they finish the bottle of wine 😂.

Writers Oisin & Ciara are incredibly lucky to have so many talented friends. They had so much fabulous music during the ceremony that it felt like being at a really great concert. Such a treat!! And this is just some of their friends rehearsing.
City hall has incredible acoustics, I just love when musicians use them to their best advantage.
@aideenannaphoto was there to capture all the special moments, of which I’m sure there were plenty!!

The fabulous @singer_clara_hutchinson rehearsing for A&M’s lighthearted Humanist Wedding Ceremony. The couple chose to blindly eat a piece of dark or sweet chocolate, symbolising staying by each others sides through whatever life may throw their way - be it sweet times or more bitter, hard to swallow times. It added a bit of fun to the ceremony and was perfect for the Bride who has a sweet tooth! They chose to answer questions about what they loved most about the other and why they’re choosing to marry the other and as I read them out I saw more than a few people reaching for their tissues!! This couple were just so sweet and their answers just made me love them both all the more!!
They had 3 lovely readings and a candle lighting ceremony with their mums lighting the outer candles.
@bronte_photography Tanya was there capturing all the special moments and the incredible autumnal floral arrangements were created by @wildflower_wren .

Do you need to designate someone as an Usher?
Yes!
If you have more than 40 guests you need to ensure the correct amount of seats are reserved at the front for wedding parties and immediate family members.
The Usher should have a list of who these people are and where you want them seated - and don’t forget about the kids!! The poor Paige boys and Flower girls always get forgotten about!
Another important job for an Usher is to ensure there are seats kept empty at the back for any late comers. Us Irish folk LOVE to sit right at the back (“oh, sher don’t mind me!!”) but that doesn’t work when guests are trying to sneak in half way through the vows!!

Don’t want to be “Given Away” or escorted down the aisle but still want your father or parents involved?
The couple I met with today and I came up with a great solution - the bride is going to be escorted by her parents to the bottom of the aisle (from the Bridal Suite and up the steps to the ceremony room) at the bottom of the aisle they will hug and her parents will then walk up the aisle together. Once they’re at the top their daughter will go up the aisle alone to see and embrace her groom to be.
Every couple has different feelings about the walk up the aisle and it’s so important to find a way that suits you both. The couple I met with yesterday BTW are not doing it at all and we’re just going to begin the ceremony with the two brides just standing at the top already.
Do you have any suggestions or alternatives?

I had the honour of conducting M&W’s wedding in @castleleslie last week. The couple who are Irish and Australian wanted a “Happy, Celebratory, Light, Relaxed ceremony with Lots of Laughter & Smiles”.
They had a friend read an excerpt from Dolly Alderton’s book “Everything I know about love” and the Grooms mother gave a beautiful speech and read from a Donegal Poet. I spoke of the couples first encounter with one another “He was in a band and therefore, he was oh so cool” and “he was instantly taken with her accent, although hard to understand at first!”.
The couple chose to answer a question about “What Marriage Means to them “ and keeping it a secret from one another, I read them both out (thankfully their ideas of its meaning were fairly similar 🤣).
We closed the ceremony with a shot ritual with the couple blindly taking either a Baby Guinness or a Red Spot whiskey - showing that no matter who is going through what they will stand by one another’s sides always.
The fabulous @dougsheridansinger1 performed some great tunes which I sadly didn’t record enough of.
They had @emmakennyweddings taking photos which I know will be beautiful and the brides brother and a friend filming all of the special moments.

BABY FOOT IMPRINT FOR NAMING CEREMONY.
The lovely parents of Cillian are currently building their family home using cob bricks. So his Naming Day Ceremony was a perfect opportunity for them to create an imprint of their son’s foot in a brick to be used on an exterior wall of the house - on view for generations to come.
The couple also included an extra candle to their wedding Unity candles which their parents lit.
They chose some beautiful readings for guests to read including one by Caroline Mellor
that opens with “Go Slow. Go at the pace of the mosses and the trees; slow enough that green tendrils begin to sprout from your fingernails and lichen swathes your eyebrows.”
Perfect for this family who treasures the outdoors and nature, a great reminder for all parents too because time just disappears sometimes !
