WHY CHOOSING A MOOD OR TONE FOR YOUR CEREMONY IS IMPORTANT.
Your wedding ceremony sets the tone for your entire wedding day. Thinking about how your guests feel as they leave your ceremony is a good idea.
Also, your wedding ceremony should reflect you both as a couple. If laughter is a huge part of your relationship perhaps then you want to share some laughs with your guests during the ceremony. Naturally, every ceremony has moments of solemnity, during the vows or when I speak about marriage. But you can easily inject other emotions and moods throughout the ceremony with readings or a fun love or engagement story.
I will always adhere to the mood the couple have requested - keeping it written at the top of my ceremony āscriptā. This is another reason why no two ceremonies are the same.

What a lovely letter to receive from such a beautiful couple. I conducted the Vow Renewal of Aghilas & Noƫmie in the Iveagh Gardens. Only Noƫmie spoke some English so I tried, as much as I could do speak French and obviously they read their vows to one another in French and both read beautiful French poems.

1st wedding of 2025 @cityhalldublin . I always tell couples to encourage their guests to aim to get to the ceremony 15 minutes early because in Dublin City Centre you can never predict the traffic and often forget the one way systems or have difficulty with parking. And the same goes with the couple themselves!! Nothing worse than having to rush to your own wedding!

Iāve been a Celebrant now for over a decade and I really hope in all those years I was never once in a couples āFirst Kissā photo/video!! I also try to step aside if theyāre reading vows to one another - itās a great photo opportunity also!
My background is in Video Art so I think about all the choreography, lighting and framing of your ceremony, discussing it with the relevant vendors so you, the couple donāt have to!!

For some reason I thought it would be a great idea to greet A&Cās international guests in each of their over 20 mother tongues. Unfortunately I never got the phonetical spellings of each of them so with the help of Google translate, I chanced my arm!! I have used many of them before for previous weddings but ones like Greek and Cornish were definitely new for me.
Missing from the video are my Arabic and Ethiopian attempts!
I do love a challenge (and a laugh!!)

ROMANTIC TIME CAPSULE.
Such a lovely way to start a new tradition as a married couple - creating your very own romantic time capsule on your wedding day. This couple actually placed their vows inside the capsule and planned to open it on their 1st wedding anniversary- the Paper Anniversary. I suggest then that they re-write their vows or love letters to one another annually, preferably before they finish the bottle of wine š.
