Happy Christmas from Lakeview Flowers!!!

I have had a wonderfully busy Christmas season wreathing so many of your doors. Your continued support of my small business is truly appreciated.

Now it's time to get festive, have a few glasses of Bailey's, a lot of mince pies and take a few days to reflect on the flower filled year that I have had.

But it won't be too long before I'm back working with flowers as I have a really beautiful wedding coming up in a few days. I'm really looking forward to it, it's going to be amazing.

An update on the upcoming Christmas wreath workshops.

I have some availability for the workshop this coming Saturday 30th of November from 12 to 2.30.

So if you are looking to start this festive season having a really lovely afternoon, learning a new skill and eating goodies then this is for you!!

The workshop is €70pp. You get everything you need to make a beautiful wreath that you can bring home and hang on your own door. How lovely is that?

Hi. I've a few new followers recently so I thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm Louise, the face behind Lakeview Flowers. I'm a florist specialising in small to medium sized weddings working from my studio in the beautiful Cavan countryside.

I also supply seasonal gift bouquets and funeral flowers. I offer workshops like our upcoming Christmas wreath workshops and wedding bouquet preservations.

The majority of the flowers I use are grown right here in my own cutting garden. The plan for next year is to expand this area and grow lots more wonderful flowers.

Christmas order book now open 🎄

If you want to be organised this year why not order your wreath now and it will be ready on whatever date you want in December.

The wreaths are handmade on a moss base. Filled with beautiful Irish foliage, pine cones and festive adornments. Finished off with a ribbon 🎀

I will also have grave wreaths for €30, not as fancy as a door wreath but very beautiful.

These were very popular last year so get the orders in early.

For S and S 💕

Yesterday's wedding was the most perfect Autumn day. Fresh and sunny but with a crispness that signalled the end of the Irish cut flower season. The leaves rained down like confetti instead of the usual rain 🍂

Everything in this wedding was grown in Ireland. Either by myself or the lovely Johanna .ie.

It was the last wedding of the season for me and now it's time to reflect on all the wonderful weddings I've been involved in throughout the year. Well that and plant out next years flowers.

Christmas wreath workshop!!!

This Christmas come to Lakeview Flowers and make a luxurious Christmas wreath using the best of Irish grown foliage and some wonderful seasonal trimmings.

We'll have mince pies, sweets, hot chocolate and a very tasty mulled wine (it was a big hit last year).

Places are limited so get your booking in early.

Happy anniversary to Rebecca and Rónán. 2 years married last week.

I remember this wedding so vividly. The beautiful in Donegal and after a few days of rain the sun shone brilliantly for the day.

Rebecca told me afterwards that loads of butterflies had landed on the flowers lining the steps to the ceremony table. All fluttering around her as she went to marry.

For Paige and Joshua who married yesterday at the wonderful Loughcrew Estate.

This wedding was so much fun. After all, it's not every day that I am asked to include bird skulls and crystals into the wedding flowers. I'll admit that when it was first mentioned I was a little apprehensive. But I absolutely loved how it turned out. The whole wedding was perfect and so stylish, right down to the all black attire on all of the guests.

I'm so happy to have been involved in bringing their vision to life.

I love dried flower wreaths. Such a beautiful natural piece of art. Particularly love this recently finished wreath. The colours are really lovely and the dried lavender has a wonderful scent.

Kept out direct sunlight the colours will stay as vibrant as they are now.

If you are looking something similar get in touch (it would make a wonderful Christmas present 🤭).

Definitely a feeling of autumn in the air 🍂 the flowers are happy though and looking beautiful. It's hard to believe that in a few short weeks the Irish flower season will be slowing down for the year.

What a lovely busy start to August. There were some gift bouquets, market bunches dropped off to and debs corsages made including one for my own beautiful daughter.

This arrangement went out yesterday and I loved it. It was full of beautiful July flowers. Everything was grown here.

The customer wanted white and the garden was happy to produce.

Yesterdays bride had actually married recently but this was for their big party to celebrate.

She wanted a bouquet but not quite as formal as a wedding bouquet.

The last wreath!!! My hands maybe sore but my heart is full. This has been my busiest Christmas season do far. So I want to say a big thank you for all of your orders. Next I'll be making table arrangements and some seasonal foliage bunches. If you are interested in ordering some get in touch.

I loved everything about these flowers 💕 What started out as tiny seeds being sown in my potting shed or dahlia tubers and bare root roses being potted in hope of something magical. In the end it all came together beautifully. On the rainy, cold days I sometimes think what a crazy job I have but then I get to walk around my little flower farm when all the hard work has paid off and think I'm very lucky indeed.

So much beautiful flowers being cut at the moment. The weather is behaving for now, which makes me a happy little flower grower ( harvesting in the rain is no fun ). My cutting area is looking magical at the moment. It may be small scale but it packs a punch. There is a lot of work involved in growing flowers. Sowing, weeding, digging, watering, cutting, arranging, selling, marketing (that's a lot of 'ings' and there are plenty more I'm sure). But just sitting amongst the flowers that I have grown from seed, to see their beauty, to smell their scent makes all the work so worthwhile. I'm so happy that my flowers bring joy to so many others, be that a bride receiving her wedding bouquet or a special gift bouquet sent from a friend, but firstly they bring me joy. #cavanflorist #sustainablefloristry #microflowerfarm
