I am a Celebrant/Solemniser who creates inclusive legal weddings, baby naming, vow renewals and funerals.

I am a registered Solemniser and Celebrant with Entheos and I provide inclusive legal weddings, funerals, baby welcoming and milestone ceremonies. Entheos are authentically inclusive and fit with my values and what I want to provide in the world of ceremony. People can include whatever they wish in their ceremony, whether they follow a particular faith path or not. It’s such a privilege to be part

of some of the biggest events to happen in people’s lives. I want to take the stress out of planning a ceremony and provide something that’s unique, personalised and truly memorable. I’m based in Cork, but I’m available to carry out ceremonies nationwide.

Hello and welcome to all the new faces. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. It's such an exciting time, but can be stressful too. That's where I come in.

My name is Orla McCarthy and I'm a Celebrant and Solemniser with .ie . I love my full-time job as a celebrant, and I can carry out your legal wedding 7 days a week. I'm based in Cork, but travel across Ireland.

A little bit about me. I'm originally from Tipperary, but now the Cork countryside outside Cork city is home, with my husband and 5 & and three-quarter year old son(the 3/4 is very important!).

My previous career was with multinationals in marketing and employer branding and I worked abroad for years (London/Singapore). I was made redundant during Covid and decided it was the time to embrace this change and do something different. I had been thinking about becoming a Celebrant for years and my friends and family always said it was something they could see me doing.

And that's a wrap on 2024! What an amazing year it's been. I absolutely love being a Celebrant and being part of some of the biggest days in people's lives. Thanks to everyone who's worked with me this year from the couples I've married and the families who trusted me to carry out their baby naming cermeonies and funerals.

I'm already looking forward to next year and all the amazing cermonies I've already lined up and those still to come.

Merry Christmas, everyone. Wishing you all the love, health and happiness for 2025. I'm now going to switch off, enjoy time with my family and a very excited 5 year old 🎅🏼

She was very helpful in planning our ceremony, be it being provided with suitable readings and poems to prepping a beautiful ceremony, She has the perfect & warm personality for such an occasion, She put us at complete ease before, during and after the ceremony as she performed her duties as celebrant/solemniser in a very professional way and created a very warm and calm atmosphere which carried on into the celebrations late in the evening.

For transparency, Eugene is my brother-in-law, but I approached their ceremony in the same way I would any couple and had the pleasure of staying on to enjoy the rest of the wedding day.

We would highly recommend Orla if you are looking for a unique and personal wedding ceremony! She has great attention to detail, and is incredibly professional and organised.

As well as wedding's and baby naming ceremonies, I also carry out funerals/celebration of life services. Here's a lovely testimonial I received from a recent funeral. It was for someone I knew, who had asked would I do it before she passed. As tough as it was, it was an honour to be able to do it for her and her family.

That's why spending the time with you beforehand, to go through all of the details of the ceremony is important to me.
