Forte Women’s Choir are seeking a new Accompanist to join us from January 2025 as our wonderful accompanist of many years is moving on to his next adventure. We rehearse on Tuesdays from 8:15-9:45pm in the Ard Fallen Centre in Douglas. Our accompanist would be expected to attend our weekly rehearsals plus any performances/competitions throughout the year. Competitive rate of pay on offer. Forte perform a wide range of repertoire from Pop/Rock, to Musical Theatre, to Disney, to Classic Choral selections.

So proud of my brilliant ladies in Forte Women’s Choir who sang their hearts out yesterday, scoring one of the top marks of the day with 88, and bringing home the Trinity Perpetual Cup!! 🏆 🥇 🥳 It was wonderful to get such lovely feedback from the Adjudicator, who told us we were the most enjoyable choir of the day, and would have won even if we’d been up against 15 other choirs! 🥹 What a compliment and huge boost for this fabulous group of hard-working women, who pour their heart & souls into every song they sing, and every performance they give! A big shout-out to our soloist Aoibhe, who sang with such passion and confidence, you really brought it home for us girl!! Congratulations ladies on your well-deserved score of 88 and the wonderful evening we had together afterwards celebrating!! I am so proud to be Musical Director and founder of such an incredible choir! Well done Forte!! 🤩🥰

Feis Maitiu Corcaigh are looking for volunteers to help in the festival this year! If you think you might be able to volunteer, please check it out! ❤️

Feis Maitiú, 2024 will begin in two weeks time on Wednesday, 31st January. This will be our 97th Feis.

The Feis is run by the Feis Director with the support of a small Executive team and a number of voluntary stewards, who assist with the day to day management of the Feis. We have been very fortunate that our stewards have been loyal and faithful, returning year after year to help with the Festival. Due to retirement, graduation and emigration we have lost a number of key personnel over the last few years. We are now very short of stewards and help.
So we are sending out an invite to anyone who could help in the office, Green Room or on Stage during the 2024 Festival run. We are asking for a commitment of approximately 3 hrs a session, and you can do as few or as many sessions in a week as you are available for. Training will be provided and there will be support during your sessions.
Please note that though you will have the opportunity to see and hear performances, there are, nonetheless, tasks to be completed so that the performances can happen.

We will hold an open training day on Sunday, 28th January to meet with the Feis team, learn how the Feis works and what support is needed. Please, please give this some serious consideration. We need help and support in order for the Feis to operate.

The Feis is a community event, run by the community for the community. It cannot happen without people willing to step up and help. We need that help and we need it now.

So come along on Sunday, 28th January at 2:30 for 3:00pm, have a coffee with us, chat and volunteer to help. You would be surprised how rewarding and fulfilling the role can be!

Announcing our 10th Annual ‘Christmas Wishes’ Concert in aid of Make-A-Wish Ireland, taking plac e in the fabulous Ringaskiddy Community Centre Tuesday, 19th December at 7:30pm.

100% of ticket sales, raffle sales, and refreshment sales will be going directly to Make-A-Wish Ireland, so it’s all for a really great cause!

The annual Musical Miscellany at the Freemasons’ Hall is returning on Saturday 18th November 🎶

Join us for this fundraising night in aid of Cork Samaritans , Hall Extension Fund and Cork International Choral Festival.

The concert will feature The Rebels Quartet and Forte Women’s Choir (Musical Director: Serena Standley, Vocalist & Musical Director), with special guests Katie Dwane (Piano), Anne Birmingham (soprano), Siobhan Coakley (mezzo soprano), Denis Lane (baritone), Charlotte O’Connor (soprano), Noel Somers (tenor) and Frances Kelleher (Accompanist).

The evening will commence at 7 pm, with pre-concert drinks and canapés reception, with the concert commencing at 8 pm in the Lodge Room. Special raffle on the night with amazing spot prizes!

Forte Women’s Choir are very excited to get back to rehearsals from Tuesday, 12th September and are now looking for new members! If singing is something you love, why not try a choir?
Conducted by our award-winning Musical Director, Serena Standley, with our incredible Accompanist Joseph Norton, Forte Choir are a fun group of women of all ages, singing everything from pop, musical theatre, and rock to Disney classics and everything in between!
No previous experience is necessary, as teach tracks are provided for all songs so you can learn by ear if you don’t read music!
Choirs are an incredible opportunity for everyone to explore their voices, be a part of a great group of women, make beautiful music, and have a good laugh on a Tuesday evening!
Forte enjoy our weekly rehearsals and perform at competitions and concerts/sing outs throughout the academic year.
We are seeking all voice parts, so please don’t be shy!
