We have the most fun with our Technicolour Espresso. It's where you'll discover some of the most interesting and experimental coffees we have to offer - and for a limited time!

Technicolour, as the name suggests is a slot which is reserved for fruity and bright espressos with exciting flavour profiles. Every few months we source a new coffee worthy of the Technicolour title so there is always something new to try!

This natural processed coffee from Hacienda Sonora in Costa Rica tastes like chocolate mousse, peach and lime! This farm sits at the foot of Poas volcano and runs on 100% renewable energy from hydroelectric generators at nearby rivers.

Have you tried our Upside Espresso?

This Peruvian coffee is a great example of how versatile espressos can be. It tastes sweet & smooth with milk and tastes like strawberry and milk chocolate as a black coffee.

We just can't get enough of this in the roastery! If you like your coffee a little more complex or would like to try something new, this is a definite way to get your caffeine and dopamine hit all at once.

We always want to have a few good value options on the shop, and this solid Ethiopian fits the bill nicely.

It was sourced by our dear friend Lucas in Louth, and shows all the great characteristics of a classic washed Ethiopian coffee, with clean and bright acidity, light fruitiness and floral notes.

This is an excellent coffee at an affordable price, which lets budding filter brewers push the boat out without breaking the bank!

Where to drink Upside this weekend?
is a Rathmines institution!

While you'll usually find the spectacularly bearded owner Jonathan behind the bar - brewing shots, having the craic and holding court - you may meet his equally lovely son Conor as we did on this visit.

Jonathan spins a lot of plates - be it sea swimming for Ireland, teaching international rap stars how to speak Dublinese, hosting events with renowned musicians or donning the Santa gear to raise funds for the Capuchin Day Care Centre - and he always does it with a smile on his face.

Pop in and say hello when you're in the area, and you'll be made feel at home.

There are few places where you can meet coffee professionals and eager to learn home brewers all in the same room. Having the opportunity to collaborate, educate and make friends is our idea of the perfect weekend and gave us the space to do just that 🤝

It was such an exciting and humbling experience to meet so many coffee enthusiasts who loved what we had to offer ❤️

The coffee industry in Ireland is such a passionate place full of so many hard-working and lovely people who contribute to a fun, inclusive and thriving atmosphere. A massive thank you to everyone who shared the good word of , who bought our coffee or who discovered a new local roastery to them!

What's Brewing This Week?

We just cannot keep our hands off the Ethiopia Uraga Guji! As a Grade 1 and anaerobic naturally processed coffee, Uraga Guji comfortably stands above the rest. Expect notes of mango and vanilla with a boozy kick which makes it so easy to drink.

We're enjoying this coffee as an aeropress:
Dose: 15g
Ratio 1:15
Grind: Medium
Water: 97 degrees celsius
Method: Inverted

1) Add 50g water to bloom, stir three times in a back and forth motion so all grounds are fully saturated
2) Fill to 225g
3) Wet your filter, screw on the cap and flip the aeropress onto your mug
4) Plunge at 2 mins for 30 seconds
5) Enjoy!

Our Burundi Kibingo Washed is up on the shop and full of flavour!

It is a real crowd pleaser and has all you would want from a Burundi coffee. You can expect a blackcurrant explosion in your cup with tasting notes of rich dark fruits balanced out by a gentle acidity.

Where to drink Upside this week?

Down Montague Street in Dublin you'll find , where Zuzana and Jason have been making some of the best sandwiches in the country for over 10 years.

It's a small space, so you can see the attention to detail they put into what they do. Jason looks after the kitchen team, carefully preparing pretty much everything in-house. The sandwiches are really on a different level - with the balance of flavours and textures better than what you'd expect in most restaurants!

If you are there around lunch time, you'll always see a queue going down the street, which Zuzana runs through super efficiently while chatting to their many regulars, weighing espresso shots, steaming milk and dishing out the always tempting cakes and homemade sausage rolls.

We are proud to be working with Green Bench - you can tell they love what they do, and always give a warm welcome!

Fresh Coffee on the Shop!
Let us introduce the newest edition to our line up, Burundi Kibingo Washed!

This is a prime example of the classic Burundi taste, with big flavours like blueberry and melon, being married together by the sweet and nutty taste of amaretto.

It's about time we divulged our best kept secret 🤫
Our Half Caf Espresso is the perfect companion for any coffee lover who loves the taste of coffee, without any of the consequences!

The same great taste, but with half the caffeine (similar to a cup of breakfast tea) it's quickly becoming a favourite for you home brewers.

We blend our favourite Brazilian single origin espresso with our Colombian Sugarcane Decaf - making for a wonderfully rich and smooth brew.

Where to Drink Upside this Week?

You instantly pick up on the atmosphere of a cafe when you walk in to it, and is a perfect example of this.

This is an excellent neighborhood spot on McKee Road in Finglas, where Ross has build up a warm, vibrant and buzzing space for the local community. It's always busy (and for good reason), but you'll always feel looked after with time for a chat with their lovely team!
