📢 Hi Tallaght (& beyond), 📢

🍰This Friday the 11th we invite you to our bake sale to raise funds for our charity, the TUI Care Foundation.

🐢 Through the TUI Care Foundation you can adopt a tree or even a turtle! This is a great sustainable gift idea.

🎂However, our charity also invests in the people of the resorts who work so hard to give you amazing holidays, like Estefany, 22, from Punta Cana:

❤️ "Before the TUI Academy, I did not work. I had to take care of my son and my brothers, stay at home doing chores. When I gave birth to my son, I had to leave school because they did not accept me. Many years passed, but one day, I got to know Plan International and the TUI Academy."

❤️ Despite juggling childcare, in less than a year, Estefany managed to complete her technical training in gastronomy, personal development skills and work experience. She got a job in the confectionery section of the Royalton Punta Cana hotel in the Dominican Republic. "In my house, the only one who worked was my father. It was the only salary that went in, to cover everything.”

❤️ Now Estefany and her sister are earning their own income and Estefany’s confidence has grown so much on her journey too. With her new income, Estefany is able to help her family. “Now I can pay for my son's school
things. I can help my mother buy her medications. I can pay for my English classes and I can help my father pay for the house upkeep or buy something that is needed.”

❤️ Estefany still has many dreams and goals she wants to achieve, but now feels she has all the tools, training and enthusiasm needed to achieve them. "In five years from now, I see myself as the chef of my own restaurant. I want to rebuild my parents' house, to give them a little bit of what they gave me.”
