Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership are delighted to partner up Eike Treanor - Purely Yoga to bring you this outdoor seated programme for all abilities. 🙆‍♂️👨‍🦼🧘‍♂️🧘🧘‍♀️

🗣 This 4-week programme will take place on Thursdays from 11.30am - 12.30 pm beginning 8th June 2023.

The programme takes place on the green outdoor space outside Ink Cafe in the Lexicon Library. ⛵️🌿

Each week Eike will give participants an hour long taster in different activities such as yoga, pilates, mindfullness etc. ☯️

This is an inclusive programme which is suitable for all ages and fitness levels and in particular, we welcome wheelchair users. 👈

If you're looking for somewhere to park in , the car park is open from 7am to 11pm. The rate is €2.40 per hour with a capped rate of €6.00 per day. There is now an OAP discount, just ask at the security desk. Bike racks are also located in the car park.

This week past I started my residency at DLR Lexicon. When I arrived for my first day of orientation I was struck by the beauty, design and facilities of the building itself. As I spent more time throughout the week wandering and working and wittering I slowly noticed something deeper ebbing into my bones; a sense of warmth and genuineness. It’s a warmth of children playing games while scholars turn pages, families enjoying an afternoon together, seniors strolling aisles inquisitively, and (to my surprise!) even teens hanging out. It’s a warmth of community that has seeped into the wood and stone of the place and I think this is tangible in the photo above, which captures me on my first studio day 😊

My residency will centre around the continued development of my Dúchas project; a repertoire of Celtic music for solo guitar. The project is an immersive experience of the old and the new - the traditional and contemporary - ancient melodies and stories expressed with modern techniques and technology. During the residency I will be researching Celtic folklore, composing and arranging, as well as experimenting with digital technology to create new and engaging work.

I will be presenting my music as it develops at a series of informal concerts in the DLR Lexicon Gallery; the first of which is on Tuesday 9th May at 1pm. This is a free event, no booking required, and is open to the public. More events like this will be announced in coming days. My residency will culminate in a final show in the DLR Lexicon Theatre on the evening of 1st June. This music - the product of my residency - is for the community to enjoy and interact with. I would love to see you there to share it together.

We are delighted to welcome back our ever popular Open Art Studio for Adults. Join us, it doesn't matter if you are new to creative explorations or a practicing artist. Kim Jenkinson will be on hand to help as little or as much as you'd like, materials and space are free.
