Select 'best cafe' and 'barista' 🤞
We are so proud of what we have achieved in the past year.
We set out with some core values .....and one of which was to create a community hub and social space in the village of Ballymore. Job done ✅️
We also wanted to bring a little of something to everyone, and this is reflected in our regular broad customer base. Customer care is an essential part of SiP and we all do our utmost to meet the needs of our customers through keeping high standards, top quality products and excellent, bespoke by times 🤗, service. Thanks so much to all our loyal & regular Customers! We love that we nearly know everyone's order & food preferences by now and love the chats when the phone rings for an order collection! (0449356966)
We also really enjoy the chats with people travelling across the country, home from abroad visiting family or staying in air B&bs locally. We love to share information and recommend other local business and places to visit Discover Ireland
We create spaces in SiP for everyone to enjoy..
The breakfast bar (grab, gobble & go!), the forecourt (sit back in the shelter of the old garage canopy that got a facelift, SiP your coffee, peruse or watch the world go by, the herb garden (sit beneath our 3m wall mounted parasol and chill) play area (encourage the kiddos outdoors where they can raid the toyboy, ride a trike or become mini Picasso with some chalk and a blank canvas of concrete!👌)
The bench seats, accessible for large groups,
The snug , hide around the corner.
The leather sofa, a handy spot to sit while your takeaway is being freshly prepared.
The sunny window tables..... all our tables are '3 planks wide' as we made them out of the old roof rafters. Alot of love & labour went into those! Wherever you choose to sit on our famously comfy Bari vintage chairs, you will be sure to enjoy the comings & goings. Sometimes people pop in for 5mins and end up staying an hours because they've met 2 neighbours and a cousin twice removed whi they have seen in a decade 🤣
We always wanted to serve a speciality coffee that is easy to enjoy, expertly blended and locally roasted. We found this in Geometry Coffee Roasters 'Compass' blend. Thanks to Matt & George in their continued support from set up stage, prompt deliveries to the every day queries and troubleshooting. And we were lucky to find some very good Baristas on our Team from Day 1 to dial in, grind, tamp, extract, steam & pour for us! And who have kindly taught and shared their skills to help their colleagues to do the same..... we really should plan a SiP latté art competition to be fair!
We will always try our best to source locally. In addition to Geometry coming up the road from Tuam, we have had beautiful products from Magico Bakery Athlone, we choose as many Irish products as possible from Sysco Ireland Id say around 80%, (Odlums, Gem, Clonakilty, Tournafulla, Ballymaloe, Irish pork, Glenhaven chicken, Bawnbua, Sisù oat, Compsey creamery, Kerrymaid, Ishka, LowLow, Cadburys, Barrys), Keith is always accommodating on delivery day,
Arrabawn Dairies with the always reliable and every so helpful, Paddy, deliver to us three times a week,
Emmet from Native Hospitality Solutions keeps us topped up with all our cleaning & sanitary supplies,
and Ken, the legend, from Greenes Family Farm , drops us in the most beautiful free range eggs, neve cracked, dirty or broken.
We are very lucky to have such amazing, consistent suppliers.
And not to mention, our most treasured homegrown organic supplier .... Scoil Eoin Naofa, Ballymore. The kids and teachers have a busy polytunnel and large veg garden & orchard. They have a horticulturalist tutor who visits throughout the year to guide and advise. When they have surplus crop, they drop fresh salads, tomatoes, parsley, basil over to us regular with big proud smiles!!🌱😍
In turn, we work with local businesses and support all local groups which adds to the already great sense of community in Ballymore.
But most importantly..... we absolutely love what we do ...and we think you do too 🤩💕 SiP Coffee Garden
