**Budget 2025 is fast approaching and hospitality businesses across the country have one ask: the reinstatement of on food.**

If we want our independent hospitality outlets to survive, we must fix the broken economic model, which is currently leading to a crisis of closures. Without support, many more restaurants, cafés, and pubs will close their doors for good.

Here are ** ** on Food.

1️⃣ **612 closures** of food-led businesses since last September’s VAT increase.

2️⃣ **22 jobs lost** per restaurant closure.

3️⃣ **€1.36 million cost** to the economy per closure.

4️⃣ **8th highest VAT rate** on food hospitality in the EU27.

5️⃣ **€906 million** increase in the industry’s tax receipts during VAT9 period.

6️⃣ **270,000 livelihoods** supported by hospitality and tourism.

7️⃣ **€8.6 billion** of a Budget surplus could save this sector.

🎉 KC Peaches is officially 18 today! 🎂✨

It all began when food lovers Katie Cantwell and Vincent Carroll teamed up to create something special—KC Peaches was born from their passion for providing Dublin with fresh, healthy, and affordable food options. 🌆🍏

Our first café opened its doors on Pearse Street in the summer of 2006 (now home to our thriving Catering department). Over the years, we expanded with Nassau Street in 2011, followed by Dame Street and Stephens Green in 2013. Each new location has been a step forward in our mission to bring wholesome, quality food to the heart of Dublin. 🥪🍴

None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our amazing staff and the love from our loyal customers. Every sandwich made, every coffee poured, and every smile shared is a part of our story—and we’re so grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️

As we celebrate 18 years, we’re looking forward to many more filled with good food, great coffee, and even better memories. Here’s to our founders, our team, and all of you who’ve been with us on this journey. 🥂
