On November 22nd in Yamamori Tengu, Dublin 1, Tengu X Initial bring you the legendary DJ Storm.
Affectionately dubbed the ‘First Lady of Drum & Bass,’ Storm represents Metalheadz at their residencies, label nights and tours as well as countless solo gigs. Having been involved from the very start of the label alongside her great friend and DJ partner Kemistry, Storm’s contribution has been critical in helping build the reputation Metalheadz has today.
This will be her first time playing in Ireland for over 7 years (see pic 4)
Support on the night comes from Chord Memory aka Genie. who, born and raised in Co. Dublin, emerged from the vibrant Irish rave culture of the 1990s, carving out her place as one of the first women drum and bass DJs in Ireland, alongside her DJ partner, DJ Ali.
In 1999, she picked up her first set of decks and after an introduction to Dublin’s premier drum’n’bass crew, Bassbin Recordings, played one of her first gigs at their legendary ‘Refuge’ night soon becoming a part of their DJ roster and a fixture in Dublin’s underground dance music scene, known for her blend of atmospheric drum’n’bass and straight-up dancefloor rollers.
In 2011, Chord Memory stepped away from the decks to focus on other endeavours, including becoming a Mum. Although she remained connected to the music scene, her return to DJing in 2021 reignited her love of connecting with the dancefloor.
