Remember, this month, we'll explore the fundamentals of Ballroomin' Blues, emphasizing key concepts like body movement, partner connection, and musical interpretation. You will learn to execute smooth sways and elegant turns while maintaining a strong frame for fluidity, as well as techniques like weight shifts and counterbalance to enhance your connection with partners.

Discover the Heart of Chicago Blues: Maxwell Street 🎶🎸

Maxwell Street was the heart of Chicago's blues scene, where the sound of the electric blues was born. In the early 20th century, the street’s open-air market became a meeting place for Black and Jewish communities, blending culture, commerce, and music. Blues musicians, many of whom would go on to become legends, performed on the sidewalks, amplifying their guitars to reach the crowds. This vibrant atmosphere helped shape the future of blues music, creating a legacy that continues to influence the genre today. Despite its demolition in the 1950s, Maxwell Street’s blues spirit lives on.
