Meet Bella, our new Front of House Manager at The Tara Building! ✨

Bella joins us with tons of customer support and management experience across a wide variety of industries. From painting faces in the makeup chair in places like Mac to supporting advertisers on Facebook, Bella’s had a go at it all. Most recently Bella worked as Clinic Manager in Village Vets, so she knows a thing or two about our four legged friends. 🐾

Outside of Tara you’ll find Bella cooking up a storm in the kitchen, dancing up a storm in The George or pretending to train for a marathon. 🏃🏻‍♀️👀

Massive congrats to our members Sarah and Lena for winning the 'Best Early Stage Startup' award at the InterTradeIreland Seedcorn Investor-Readiness competition with their sustainable startup EVE 👏🏆

EVE is a pioneering e-mobility intelligence software that’s making it easier for fleet managers to switch to electric vehicles, and to achieve a carbon-neutral future, by leveraging granular data insights. 🌍🚗

Now after winning the Dublin Regional Final, they are off to compete for the Overall Winner trophy (and €100k award!) at the all-island finals.

Tell us about yourself, and the work you do?

“I'm Lena and I'm from Dublin. I ran a tattoo studio for 13 years, but when the pandemic hit and with forced closures, I finally got the push I needed to pursue an MBA at Trinity College. After finishing my MBA, my goal was to enter the tech industry. What I find fascinating about tech is its problem-solving potential and its ability to level the playing field for all users, as long as they have the knowledge. Through Trinity's network, I met Sarah-Marie. This connection led me to join EVE, where I focus on business development. What I really love about working at EVE is we use technology to tackle the climate crisis by assisting fleet managers in transitioning to electric vehicles.”

What's your favourite thing about working from Tara?

“The Tara Building has a real sense of community. Unlike other coworking spaces where people tend to keep to themselves, I've spent eight months here, and I can confidently say they prioritize building a community. Everyone is friendly and has been quick to say hello. As someone with a creative background, I am also thrilled about the variety of events that run here, like creative mornings and jam sessions. And I can't forget to mention the free coffee and monthly Bread41 pastries - those are a big plus!”

We've been super busy these past few months, and are excited to share that by mid-June we'll have two brand-new 12 desk offices available to rent. 🙌

Both come with phone booths and access to all the other amazing amenities we're proud to offer here at Tara.🌿

We will of course continue to offer coworking, with a renewed focus on member events and social impact. With this evolution, our coworkers will get to enjoy more phone booths and spaces for meeting and conversation. 💚

We really enjoyed Moyee's coffee tasting and talk yesterday with their Co-Founder Killian Stokes and Meaghan.

We learnt that the business model for global coffee is seriously broken. It was eye-opening to hear that despite a mind-boggling 2 billion cups of coffee being drank every day, 90% of coffee farmers earn less than €2 a day. 🤬

Killian explained how is on a mission to help Ethiopian and Kenyan coffee farmers earn a living income through initiatives such as roasting coffee at origin, (most of the mainstream coffee is roasted in the West which he likened to France not producing wine and only exporting its grapes); training coffee farmers in organic production methods; increasing female representation in the coffee industry and setting up coffee tree nurseries to distribute new trees to their farmers. 🙌

Welcome one of our newest members, Lucy!

“I'm Lucy, staying here in Dublin for a month with the Tara Building as my 9-5 base. While in town, I'm spending my time hanging out with relatives, getting to know the city better, and taking a few weekend trips around Ireland.

I work as a copywriter for the UK's fastest-growing used car marketplace, based in London. We have a great remote working policy which allows me to do the digital nomad thing for a month every year. I have the odd freelance gig too, notably for Mihaela Noroc, the amazingly talented, globetrotting photographer behind .atlas.of.beauty project.

The Tara Building is awesome, especially Narnia! It's amazing to enjoy the rooftop in the centre of the city, with all the fragrant greenery planted up there. I knew I was right to bring three pairs of sunglasses to Ireland in April.

Grace Enemaku is a Nigerian-Irish multidisciplinary designer and illustrator from Dublin, who creates branding and illustration for the unconventional. She is a founder of DesignOpp, an IDI initiative to champion diversity for People of Colour in the Irish design and creative industry. Her work is filled with colour and playful shapes, featuring a diverse array of characters. Her projects vary from conceptual branding for startups and SMEs to print and illustration for the local arts. Select clients include Arnotts, Guinness, Cadburys, Facebook/Meta, The Science Gallery, Gill Books and more.

Her first illustrated children's book I Believe In You by Deborah Somorin was published by Gill Books last year. She won a 100 Archive Award in 2020 for her Dublin Vinyl record packaging and has exhibited with Hen's Teeth, Music, Memory and the Night and Where Are The Black Designers.

We are excited to be hosting the inaugural .nd.donate event in Tara this Saturday, which is raising funds for the Irish Cancer Society. ✨

Dance & Donate is a small collective with the goal of creating engaging dance events to benefit a variety of deserving charities and non-profits.

Alongside the event they are running an raffle of excellent prizes to raise further funds for the .

A programme featuring a variety of musical styles from talented Dublin DJs will run from 8pm-1am.
