Mask, music and movement combine in this new piece of physical theatre about the forgotten Irish navvies who worked hard, faltered and slowly faded from memory. Not A Word invites you to sit with a silent man on another unexceptional evening. A day’s labouring done, he plays an old tune and remembers.
Brú Theatre presents Not a Word, a piece of physical theatre merging mask, music and movement in a celebration of those who took the boat — worked hard, faltered and slowly faded from memory. Performed by Raymond Keane, with live electronic and traditional music from Ultan O’Brien, Not A Word offers a moving portrait of one emigrant that echoes many people’s stories today. This ode to a self-exiled labourer, making his way in this small space between places, is directed by James Riordan with mask design by Orla Clogher.

Cass is on a mission to save her friend. They’ve been close since childhood and she’s the type to do anything for her mates, even when the mate in question is a tree. She has a plan, an industrial strength chain, and a Live Feed…Aurora: A Modern Myth follows Cass’ protest as she and those around her (human and otherwise) grapple with what comes next for us and the planet we call home.

For the final installment of our #PayItForward series, we’re honoured to share the story of the iconic Olwen Fouéré. What a woman, what a story.
We’re asking people to consider donating to Project Arts Centre this Christmas, to support artists like Olwen in continuing their practice and keeping the spirit of Project and contemporary art alive in Ireland.
It’s really simple to #PayItForward with as little as €5, which could buy a coffee for an artist to work in our foyer and meet other artists. €25 could buy a ticket to a show for an emerging artist or one of our community members to see a show in Project, which could open the door for them. €150 could fund a hot desk for an artist to create a space for them to work comfortably from. And for an artist like Olwen, €500 could ensure artists are paid rightly for their work, keeping pride and integrity at the forefront of their working life.
Donations of €500 - €1000+, could fund the development of a brand new work for an artist, empowering them in their practice.
If you want to support our artists and #PayItForward, simply click the #LinkInOurBio to make a donation.
Donations of over €250 are eligible for tax relief.
We are always grateful for your continued support.

For the third in our #PayItForward series, it’s with great admiration we get to share the story of artist Alessandra Azeviche. It’s been a privilege and honour to work with Alessandra this year, watching the depth of her work and art reach so many different audiences, artists and communities. We’re hoping that by sharing the stories of artists like Alessandra, you might feel encouraged and empowered to #PayItForward, and assist us in sustaining the growth of contemporary art in Ireland and keep artists like Alessandra working.

For the second in our #PayItForward series, we’re privileged to share the story of Deaf artist & activist (and beloved member of the Project family) Lianne Quigley. We’re asking people to consider supporting Project this Christmas season, so we can continue our mission to secure future paths for artists to walk on and to keep art alive and artists working.

And for an artist like Lianne, €150 could fund an interpreter cost, allowing us to communicate effectively with artists from different communities, creating pathways for artists to connect with Project.
Larger donations of €250 - €1000+....could make the world of a difference.

At Project, we pride ourselves on our artist-led ethos. Over the years we have worked with a tonne of artists from different walks of life, practices, ages and backgrounds. Each occasion leads to a new journey for us, one filled with curiosity, a willingness to learn, and admiration.
We want to ensure we secure future paths for artists to walk on, that’s why we’re asking for your support this Christmas to keep art alive and artists working. We are proud to launch #PayItForward, a simple way for people to support artists to continue to create art.
Have a listen to the first in our series, artist Paddy Critchley, on his experience with working with Project in 2024.
Did you know you can #PayItForward with as little as €5, which could buy a coffee for an artist to work in our foyer and meet other artists? €25 could buy a ticket to a show for an emerging artist or one of our community members to see a show in Project, which could open the door for them.
€100 could buy an artist a technician to help them with lighting and sound to work on an idea for half a day, and for an artist like Paddy, €500 could commission a writer to write an essay about his work, building relationships within the arts community and adding to the ways people interpret and understand what he does.
And of course, those larger donations of €1000+....we all know how much of a difference that could make.
