Lunch was an absolute joy yesterday. It was over 10 years since my last visit . I certainly won't wait as long again. The food was full of fresh , punchy exciting flavour. Great wine list and Malaga icecream superb. Bought a bottle of Pedro Ximenez Sherry and soaked raisins the minute I got home .

I'm often asked to recommend spots in Waterford city for lunch . The Algeria cafe is the spot. A delightful neighbourhood cafe with great food . Todays soup was sausage and sauerkraut- great flavours, Bordeaux sandwich, beetroot , rocket and goats cheese on seagull bakery sourdough and the piece de resistance Pistachio cheesecake and really good coffee . Staff are super - thank you Bridget for looking after us today . Eamonn introduced me to The Algeria Cafe in Ballybricken for which I am eternally grateful .

I had the delicious pleasure of judging an Easter cake competition today at Waterford regional hospital today . The standard both in flavor and decoration was unprecedented. Mum cane with me - we had such a lovely time a break from chaos of preparing to open @andchips_ and dip into and be reminded of the wonderful food and baking tradition that surrounds us .
