For Persons affected by a Telecommunications Service Outage:

Commission for Communications regulation (ComReg) web site advises persons affected by a telecommunications service outage should first contact their service provider to raise their complaint formally in line with their individual service providers ‘Complaint Handling Code of Practice ‘and obtain a complaint reference number from their service provide.

The service provider will then have 10 working days to contact their customer and provide a resolution, otherwise, if this does not occur or if the customer is not satisfied with their service providers response, the customer can then contact Comreg’s Consumer Team who are available via the details below between 8.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday (excluding public holidays).

Telephone: 01 8049668 for consumer queries and 01 8049707 for business consumer queries.

Email: [email protected] for consumer queries and [email protected] for business queries.

Text: Text COMREG to 51500 (standard SMS rates apply) to receive a call back.

Where their complaint remains unresolved after 10 working days, they can then request ComReg’s assistance in resolving the complaint. ComReg will:
Escalate the complaint formally with the service provider.
Actively monitor and track the progress of the complaint to resolution, ensuring that the customer receive regular updates from their service provider.
Review the service provider’s resolution of the complaint in the context of its regulatory obligations.
