Been finding bumblebees fast asleep in the mornings in their blossom beds.
A little morning delight to see them all snug as a bug
Like they were eating until they couldnt eat anymore, and fell asleep on the couch ๐

Daffodil Appreciation - The harbinger of spring
This flower is often over looked and undervalued in floristry. When there are so many beautiful varieties its a shame they get overlooked!
It's often said you cannot mix with other flowers, the sap from daffodils will clog the stems of other flowers. With simple handling trick of cutting the stems in a separate vase to let the sap drain for a few hours, you can easily mix and arrange with other flowers, worry free.
We are growing all these and a few more on the farm, a mix of early, middle and late blooming varieties helps extend the season. Harvest when stems are at gooseneck stage for over a week of vase life ๐
Which is your favourite?

Dahlis are probably the most rewarding cut flower crop to grow at home or for the beginning flower farmer. We are lucky that they love the Irish climate, with plenty of rain and milder temps to keep them happy.
๐ฑWe have a small selection of dahlia tuber varieties to share with you.
๐ Delivery nationwide or collection from the farm gate
These plants were grown on the flower farm, then at the end of the season the tubers were dug up divided and stored through winter. Each order is hand picked for quality.
๐จโ๐พAll you have to do is plant in a sunny sheltered spot, protect from slugs in the early stages, then watch them grow and bloom profusely from late July to October!
Get them while they are still available!

๐ Thank you to everyone who supported our Rose-Free Valentines Day and celebrated their love with seasonal cool season flowers, even through all the madness happening in our world at the moment๐
๐ It was our first Valentines day offering, and one we hope to continue. Spring flowers are an absolute favourite to grow here and arrangement with.
We wish this holiday fell in one of the warmer months and that we didn't have to rely so much on european imports. But these are the cards we have all been dealt. We did manage our own hellebores and planted hyacinth bulbs this year in the arrangements.
๐ This "Rose Free thing" was not set up to point fingers at anyone or shame a business for using roses. It was meant to spotlight spring blooms and let them be the stars for this valentines. To offer customers an alternative to red roses, an offering that is solely driven by customer demand and subconsciously ingrained habit, sadly... to the detriment of our planet.
๐ซ We can turn this ship around, one flower at a time, we just need customers and florists to demand it
.... Now on to Mother's day, its March 10th this year! Its so early! Can we not change it to the European model of May? We'd be swimming in irish flowers by then!
๐ต Preorders are up on the website for Mothers day

๐ฑ We also have some prechilled bulbs that will bloom for you this spring if planted out now! Have a look ๐
