At Cabra Castle we believe in offering a luxurious experience that is both kind to the planet and aligns with our guests values and the principles of sustainability. We are proud to be recognised for our green initiatives having won the "Best Sustainable Practices Ulster" award from the Irish Restaurant Association and an Eco Award from Green Hospitality Ireland.
One of the most significant steps to reduce our carbon footprint is our energy efficient solutions. The installation of a 160-panal solar farm, and the installation of solar panels on The Granary now accounts for an estimated 50% of our energy, with the remainder sourced from certified green energy providers.
We have also replaced all the light bulbs with energy-efficient LED lighting, and installed an intelligent wireless heat management system, Heatboss, and upgraded the insulation throughout the hotel to further reduce energy consumption.

We recently received this beautifully restored image and it reminded us of the incredible changes to the castle and grounds in the last year or so. Our reception area, grand staircase and first and second floor lobbies received a complete transformation which included gold leaf gilding, luxury new carpet, curtains and wallpaper.
In addition to this over 20 guestrooms and en-suite bathrooms were renovated and redecorated, tastefully blending incredible antique furniture with a modern style décor.
The Grand Ballroom got a stunning installation of floral arrangements and lighting behind the top table providing a stunning backdrop for wedding couples. These beautiful floral arrangements were also added to the entrance of the pre-dinner drinks reception rooms, along with a fairylight backdrop on The Gallerie Veranda.
We have also developed some beautiful new areas on the grounds where guests and wedding couple can create picture perfect moments in stunning surroundings.
Our biggest development was the additional of the The Granary at Cabra Castle, a stunning custom-built ceremony and events venue nestled adjacent to the Castle. The Granary is elegantly styled, adorned with soft romantic lighting and floral roof hangings. This is truly is a breath-taking venue.
As always, we endeavour to enhance our guest experience by continuingly improving and developing the castle.
