For years, our dedicated housekeeping team has diligently reunited countless lost socks and other items with their rightful owners. But what happens to the lonely socks that never find their match?

We pondered, we brainstormed, and then inspiration struck!

Rockhill House Estate is thrilled to announce our newest, most unique exhibition yet: The Lost Sock Project!

For a limited time, from today, April 1st, the meadows and woodland of Rockhill House will be showcasing a series of incredible sculptures entirely crafted from the leftover socks left behind by our esteemed guests! ‍‍‍

The Lost Sock Project promises to be an unforgettable experience, blurring the lines between art, sustainability, and the endearing quirks of human nature.

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh! Happy St Patrick's Day to all, near and far.

We started the day with a walk on the grounds reflecting on all the changes in Letterkenny, Donegal and Ireland Rockhill House has borne witness to in its over 400 years of documented history.

It is a story as rich as the grass fed Irish beef stew served in The Church restaurant on the Estate grounds and one we continue to celebrate in decorative touches throughout the House, the grounds, The Wellhouse spa and wellness centre and beyond!

From 17th century landowners, an aristocratic ornithologist and his Lady wife who transformed the House and Estate, decades as a home to the Irish Defence Forces and now to a fully restored family owned and run escape, our walls hold echoes of fascinating lives.

It's a story of people, of landscape and sea and an abiding spirit of place.

Visit us and celebrate not just Donegal and the landscapes and rolling seas which have shaped so many, but Rockhill House Estate's remarkable journey through the ages.
