All the way from New Hampshire USA, Michelle & Brendan enjoyed a spectacular day for their July wedding at Cloughan Castle!

Cloughan Castle exceeded all our expectations. From the manicured castle grounds to the beautifully decorated rooms, everything was incredibly stunning. The attention to detail for all the design and decor in the castle really made every room feel magical. Kim and Lourda from Cloughan Castle were excellent to work with and helped us with anything we needed during our stay. We were able to hire cleaners through Kim's recommendation, and they were lovely and did a great job. We rented the castle for a week and hosted our wedding there for around 100 guests from the States. Some of our close friends and family stayed at the castle for the week, while others stayed in Loughrea at the Loughrea Hotel and Spa or in Airbnbs. We loved that the castle was self-serve, as it allowed us the flexibility to bring our wedding vision to life. There were no forced shutdown times inside the castle, so we could enjoy the space for the wedding and entire week without feeling rushed, unlike some of the other venues we looked at. Our stay at the castle was truly special and something we will remember forever.
For our wedding, we had the ceremony at the back of the castle, the cocktail hour in the courtyard, and the dinner reception in the hall. The venue was perfect for a beautiful, fun, and intimate wedding.
All our vendors were exceptional! Justin and his team from Maggie Mays catered our three-day event and did an impeccable job. We hosted the rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Maggie Mays, and they catered our wedding at the castle, as well as the brunch the morning after. Our guests raved about the delicious food and incredible service, saying it was the best wedding & non-wedding food they have ever had!
Maurice McCarthy provided all the alcohol and bar staff and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. He even set up the bar early, making sure it was stocked and ready when we arrived at the castle, allowing us to enjoy it a few days before the wedding. I was initially concerned that the bar area in the entryway might get congested with 100 people, but everything flowed smoothly, and drinks were served promptly without any delays. During the wedding, the bar staff was wonderful and made sure guests always had a drink in hand. It was a long wedding, and the bar staff was willing to stay into the early hours of the morning to help. Justin and Maurice's teams worked seamlessly together, and I was blown away by how incredible they were to work with.
Kate Deegan from Perfect Details provided partial planning and decor for the wedding. She helped with the weekend schedule, handled all the little details, and ensured our wedding was beautiful and went smoothly. Thanks to Kate's amazing work and her team, I was able to fully enjoy every second of our wedding weekend. Kate also recommended Mimi's - Martini (hair), Alibhe (hair), and Susan Fox (makeup) for me and the bridal party on the morning of the wedding. They all did a beautiful job, and I would highly recommend all of them. Martini from Mimi's did my bridal hair and absolutely nailed the look I was going for (without a trial). Bokeh provided photography and videography for our big day. My husband was initially dreading the idea of spending time taking photos, but thanks to Bokeh's amazing and fun team, we truly enjoyed the experience, and the resulting photos were incredible. Their creativity and photography style perfectly matched the castle and our wedding parties, and we are so thankful for the stunning photos that will always remind us of that weekend.
Dervan Coach Hire provided buses to transport all the guests to and from the three days of events. They were reliable and flexible, ensuring everyone got to and from the events according to the schedule. We had Disco Heroes provide the music for the wedding day: a ceremony singer and pianist, a jazz trio during the cocktail hour, a band for after-dinner dancing, and a DJ for the late-night crowd. I was blown away by all their performances, and our guests danced the entire night.
Our wedding weekend was the best weekend of our lives! Thanks to Cloughan Castle and our amazing team of vendors, we had the most incredible stay, and our wedding was better than anything I could have imagined. We can't wait to find a reason to return to Cloughan Castle!
