Entries now been taken for Derek Langan Memorial Pool Competition

One of the biggest competitions in Erris returns at the end of the month as O'D's Bar hosts the Derek Langan Memorial on the 23rd and 24th of November

The competition is running since 2005 and this year Ed Holmes will return as the defending champion having won it for the first time last year

You can enter and pay your entry fee online at the link below.

Competition due to take place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th but matches may be scheduled for Friday the 22nd depending on entries.

Erris Pool League 2024/25
The AGM of the Erris Pool League will take place on Thursday next the 5th of September at 8.30pm in The Lighthouse Tavern

All interested teams are asked to send a representative to discuss the Rules and Format for the new season. Any new ideas or suggestions are more than welcome

Friday 27th of September has been provisionally set as the start date of the League so start putting your teams together.

Erris Pool League Charity Event and All Ireland Youth Winners Presentation Night

The stage is set in the Erris Coast Hotel for tomorrow night.

It’s all in aid of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice and Western Care Belmullet so come along on the night to see the players that played back in 1984 back on the green baize.

A Presentation will also take place to the U23, U15 and Junior Girls All Ireland Winners which includes four players from Erris.

A big thank you to Anthony Healy of Healy Amusements for supplying the table free of charge for the Event and his help in setting it up in the hotel. It’s much appreciated

Taking place at Tra Bhui....

Erris Singles League Finals Night
The Erris Pool League Team competition came to a dramatic end last weekend but the League season will come to a close on Friday night next when the Singles League Finals take place in Tra Bhui Doohoma.

In Division 1 current holder David Doocay will take on the 2022 Champion Ed Holmes as both players aim to become the first player to win the title for the second time

In Division 2 it's a battle of the brothers as Adam and Conor McAndrew meet in what promises to be a real attacking game.
Both players easily qualified for the final stages after topping their group and will play in Division 1 next season

The Division 3 final see McGrath teammates Diarmaid O'Donnell and Michael Geraghty come face to face for a second time this season. Michael picked up the win in the group stage but Diarmaid is more than capable of coming out on top this time around.

The Division 2 and 3 finals will start at 8pm with the Division 1 final to follow afterwards.

🎱Thomas Meenaghan Memorial Pool Competition will now take place the 16th & 17th of March.

Names for the competition will be taking from 4 o’clock onwards on the evening with the games starting at 6pm. Or you can message this page or Thomas Meenaghan to be entered.

Proceeds will go to Ballyglass RNLI this year.

🎱🎱 Erris Pool League Cup Semi Finals 🎱🎱

It's do or die for our lads tonight, currently going into a 7-2 deficit against Tra Bhui Pool Events, first to 10.
This will be our first chance of reaching the Erris pool League final for the first time since 2011.

All support is appreciated, which hopefully will showcase the high standard of pool in the barony, alongside a few twists and turns along the way.

Second leg will commence at roughly 9:30pm, and for anyone who cannot make it, we hope to livestream the match. 🎱🍻

In Mc Grath’s pub, we take pride in providing a platform to helping others improve their pool and promoting pool as best we can in the Erris & in Mayo.

With the All-Ireland Junior (March) & Senior (May) pool championships just around the corner, & the increase costs & expense of going to events and travelling, we have decided to do a raffle to help young players with funding & a pathway to improve their game, alongside being able to compete at the highest level.

This weeks raffle we’re looking at a lovely 3/4 piece cue & case, supplied by PPC Cues & Accessories
