Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things) directs a triptych of surreal dark comedies. A man’s life falls apart after he pushes back on an order from his domineering boss. Another man takes extreme measures after becoming convinced his wife - recently rescued after being lost at sea - has been replaced by an imposter. And, finally, a woman who has abandoned her family for a cult is tasked with tracking down someone who has the power to resurrect the dead.
Returning to the bleak, deadpan style that defined his early features such as Dogtooth, Lanthimos offers up three-films-in-one with Kinds of Kindness. These are all strange, unsettling and darkly funny stories about people driven to commit bizarre acts of desperation or violence.

“There’s qu**rs in every county, homosexuals in the every hamlet, g**s in every gable. And tonight you’ll be talking to some of them.”
As the 70’s rage on, the telephone rings…
Callings follows five q***r people who found sanctuary and community on the other end of the phone by seeking solace in Cara-Friend – a befriending service set up in the 1970’s to support the many hidden LGBTQ+ individuals across the north of Ireland.
Charged with the music of the day, and set amidst a storm of anti-gay headlines, Callings delves deep into the struggle for survival our q***r communities faced on a daily basis.
Callings poignantly and powerfully expresses how even simple acts of connection can change the course of a life, and how during oppressive times, a gang of bright and brilliant q***r people crafted community to save themselves and each other.
In an era when the government attempted to quash their right to exist, these moments of connection were an act of resistance and rebellion.
From rallying against the Save Ulster from So**my campaign to revelling in the right to exist won through the Dudgeon vs UK trial, Callings looks back at the historical challenges faced by LGBTQ+ communities, and celebrates just how far we’ve come.
“Someone out there has been plucking up the courage for god knows how long, tonight they’ll pick up the phone and you’ll be there for them….’

Fishamble's OUTRAGE by Deirdre Kinahan
Thursday 7 November, 8pm
Tickets €20/€18
Book: https://riverbank.ticketsolve.com/shows/873644764/events
War makes heroes and demons doesn’t it, so how could war in Ireland be any different?’
Told through the prism of two sisters OUTRAGE is a play that explores the true nature of women’s role in the Irish revolutionary wars and in particular the effect of Civil War on women’s mind, body and soul.
Alice and Nell play key roles in arming revolutionaries, organising civic resistance and in particular the propaganda war. They are fervent, they are funny, they are human and they, like everyone else in Ireland become deeply conflicted as the country spins toward a shattering Civil clash that split the nation and continues to haunt Irish politics, society and culture to this day.
OUTRAGE challenges the historical narrative we have all grown up with.
OUTRAGE is written out of the true testimony of women we have never heard of.
OUTRAGE is a theatrical hurricane of emotion, empathy, action and truth.
OUTRAGE is produced by Fishamble: The New Play Company. It was presented in partnership with Dublin Port Company, and Meath County Council, during St Patrick’s Festival 2022, as part of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media’s Decade of Centenaries programme. Fishamble is delighted to revive this highly acclaimed production on national tour, to audiences throughout the country, with support of an Arts Council Touring grant.
