A rare aerial view of the rear of Temple House. The terraced Italianate gardens are a popular choice for outdoor summer wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions. Boasting not only beautiful seasonal flora, they also have picturesque views over the castle ruins and lake.

Today Temple House looks down on the ruins of its own ancestral dwelling where it sits by the lake. The ruins provide the perfect backdrop for our wedding couples photos or purely for our guests to explore. These photos can't do them justice but they can give you a flavour of their magical quality.

Everywhere we turn is storm damage - so many trees we have lost count. Not easy conditions still for those guys out working to restore power and get life back to ‘normal’. A massive thank you to the ESB guys out there for getting power back last night.

Wow that was a storm - we have no power like a lot of people and no phones but are safe. Lot of damage with lots of trees down and our roof was hit but again we are all safe and our American guests enjoyed candles and fires.

⚠️ Passenger Update ⚠️

Ireland West Airport will be non-operational between the hours of 04:00 am and 13:00 pm on Friday, 24th January, due to the status red storm warning in place across the country as Storm Éowyn is forecasted to have gusts in excess of 130km/h.

Passengers due to travel on flights scheduled between 08:00 am and 14:00 pm, are advised not to travel to the airport. All flights up to 1pm have now been cancelled by the airlines. The terminal building will not be accessible to members of the public during this time.

The airport will continue to monitor the situation, and it is expected that the airport will be fully operational at 13:00 pm after the red warning expires, subject to safety checks being carried out to assess whether any damage has occurred and to ensure the safety of passengers, staff and the general public. At this point, it is anticipated that flights scheduled to operate in the afternoon will operate as scheduled. However, this is subject to change based on the weather conditions at the time.

Passengers due to travel to the airport on Friday morning are advised to contact their airlines for further information and to rebook. Ireland West Airport apologises for any inconvenience caused, but the safety of our staff, customers and partners is of utmost importance during the period whilst the status Red weather warning is in place. 💨

With Storm Eowyn about to hit our shores and predictions of it being the 'worst storm in generations' we hope that all of our Ireland and UK friends and followers stay safe. 💚
We are rolling up our sleeves here to continue to entertain and care for our current lovely guests. Group catering with potentially no power will be interesting! Charcuterie and cheese boards by a roaring fire and candlelight anyone?
