At Ballybeg we love simplicity and ease. We want your wedding to be a laid back affair so that you and your guests can relax and enjoy the place and atmosphere. In order to make the most of your time at Ballybeg we have designed a special package that includes a fantastic Wedding Day followed by a uniquely Irish Next Day celebration. Start your wedding with a ceremony of your choosing in our medie

val style ceremony room. Its open stonework adorned with ivy, candle chandeliers and roaring turf fires create the perfect ambience for a personal and intimate ceremony. From there you and your guests can meander along the path through the gardens to the house for the reception (or outside on the lawns if the weather permits). Later you will enter the Victorian style marquee for dinner service, with dancing and merriment a-plenty! A hackney taxi service is on hand to ferry your guests away later on during the small hours. The next day, you and your guests can enjoy an informal party in your very own Shebeen. A place that feels like time has stood still…a cosy and welcoming snug, unlike anything you have ever seen. Informal food, drink and a good ole’ traditional Irish music session are the perfect ingredients to create a lazy, relaxed party for your friends and family – the ideal way to extend your wedding celebrations. Ballybeg is a special venue steeped in history, romance and natural splendour. Everything is possible and can be arranged. To find out more and experience the place for yourself please get in touch to arrange a viewing.

It’s very unusual that the only piece of litter left in Grouse Lodge following a three day stay by music writers, Jimmy and Ryan, was a tattered brown paper bag with the following verses written in Ryan’s own hand writing.

How lovely it is👌☘️❤️

If my thoughts could gather
As eloquently as the mist does
Upon the field where the bullocks play
And bow their heads
Oh how articulate I would be.

And if my frame could stand
With the great bravery
And the great warmth
That the lodge does in its proud beauty
Oh, how strong I would be.

And if my hair would gather
As the great trees do to form the forest
With its resilient breast
Housing the marvellous sentience
Oh, how beautiful I would be.

And if my breath had the tenderness
To envelope the beauty
Just as the cool air does
In it’s gentle silence, without asking
Oh, how calm I would be.

And if I was to die here
Both quickly and well
Oh how alive I would be.
