💛 My Jar of Hearts 💛

There is a heart in here for every couple I have married, and every person I have created a ceremony for with their names and date on it. Its just my way of holding all the beautiful memories I am gathering on my way.

This morning I've placed my last heart from 2023, and I'm looking forward to adding my first of 2024 next weekend.

Came home from a lovely evening out in the big smoke last night to this message from a gorgeous couple I married in October. It was a real pleasure to have played a part in their Wedding journey, they were a fantastic couple to get to know. Their Wedding Ceremony was full of smiles, laughter and tears of joy. And I lucky to be part of it all.

It always amazes and delights me when a couple take time to go on to my profile and leave feedback like this. Social media is the bane of my life, but this and all the reviews I have gotten so far make it all worthwhile.

The highlight of my life (apart from my kids 🥰) is meeting couples like J&J, hearing their story and being included in this final part of their journey to speaking their 'I do's'. That I will never tire of.

And it's why I love my vocation!

This picture has a special place in my heart.

I took it just before I officiated a family Wedding last summer. The reason is the remembrance table. There is a picture of my Mam Frances on there and one of my Aunt Vera.

While Weddings and Funerals are worlds apart, they are both intertwined in our life stories and we remember our departed most on those special days when we feel their absence dearly.

Every ceremony whether it be a welcoming, a joining or a goodbye is a love story all of its own.

My role as an Interfaith Minister is to hold space for couples, individuals and families during times of great joy and great sadness. And it is an honour to be called upon to do either.
