The humble umbrella has a long history! More than 4,000 years old, they were initially used as parasols to create shade from the sun - umbra in Latin meaning 'shade'. As Irish people, we know a little something about the benefits of the umbrella. Never one to miss a flowery opportunity I created this decorated floral mini umbrella to mark umbrella day. In fact the original umbrellas were made of branches and tree leaves.
