Ihsan Al Munsar

The Legendary Lebanese Composer, producer and pianist was known for his innovative approach to music, specifically his unique fusion of traditional Arabic music with elements of Western styles and sounds.

Al Munsar's incorporation of Western influences, such as jazz and blues, into his music, added a new dimension to the sound of Arabic music, making it more accessible to a wider audience.

He was also known for his incorporation of electronic instruments and techniques, which were not commonly used in traditional Arabic music.

His lendmark album "Belly dance Disco" is a huge favorite among our selections

This is how the sarcastic "sharraft ya nixon baba" by the Egyptian legendary singer Blind Sheikh Imam starts.

It's a political and social commentary that was widely popular in Egypt during the 1970s.

The song criticized the policies of then-President Richard Nixon and the US government's involvement in Egyptian politics.

The lyrics reflected the sentiments of the Egyptian people who were disillusioned with the political and social conditions of the country and served as a rallying cry for the Egyptian people, inspiring them to raise their voices against the political establishment and demand change - both in the 70's and in the recent 2011 Uprising against Mubarak's regime.
