Hey bass family and friends, Learning to play this piece has been a long and very satisfying journey. It demanded I redefine my entire technique. Especially everything concerning the right hand. I had to tackle many technical challenges like defining the natural position of the wrist and palm, string crossing, speed, and stamina. I ended up developing a new approach to jazz double bass right-hand technique. It has been developed by integrating classical and Flamenco guitar techniques with classical bass principles and the Feldenkrais method. My goal was to be able to play it with ease at any time. I can honestly say that I'm not the same bassist I was before this endeavor. Now it also affects my students. They have clear exercises to follow and gradually develop an excellent technique. I'm now thrilled to share this knowledge with you all. Feel free to pm me to schedule a lesson. Special thanks to my dear cousin and great classical guitarist and teacher Oren Gamlieli, my bass teacher Professor Michael Klinghoffer and my Feldenkrais teacher Frumit Feldenkrais and of course to Dania my wife for allowing me to dive in and practice countless hours. A big thank you also to the phenomenal David Dagmi on percussion, to the wonderful Gil Volfson for the Video, and to my brother Shalom Benizri for recording and mixing.
