Decided to write a post about Jordan photoshoots and pin it for future reference - who knows when you’ll need to know this stuff? :)

For most tourists, Jordan is a 2 spots country: Most people visit Jordan just to check Petra and Wadi Rum off their bucket lists.

Wadi Rum is like nature’s own set designer. It’s a stunning, otherworldly desert where were filmed Star Wars, The Martian, Transformers, and a bunch of other blockbuster hits. Plus, Wadi Rum is so spacious that you can always find a quiet spot away from the selfie sticks and crowds. Think endless desert vistas, majestic rock arches, stunning sunsets, and dune-bashing in a jeep - Wadi Rum is basically a dream come true. From my 8 years experience shooting in Jordan, couples who have shot in both Petra and Wadi Rum usually end up favoring Wadi Rum more, often having underestimated its awesomeness in advance. I know every rock in Wadi Rum and have trained countless local jeep drivers on the best spots - so you’re in good hands!

Petra, on the other hand, used to be a bit of a hassle to shoot at. The experience wasn’t exactly top-notch, but still we made a lot of great shots, elopements and proposals there. Recently, new tourism minister decided to shake things up and restricted access to the most famous part of Petra, the Treasury, for the local Bedouins. So, if you want to go further, you’ll still deal with persistent sellers every 10 meters, but the main part of Petra - and thus a huge part of the shoot - has become much more comfortable. And right now, with the ongoing situation in Israel, tourism in Jordan has dipped significantly, making hotel prices and travel costs a lot more wallet-friendly. So, despite the theoretical risks, it might just be the perfect time to visit!

Jordan has plenty of other cool spots too: the Dead Sea is stunning depending on the season, there are unique canyons, and I personally adore Amman. But for a one-day shoot, Petra and Wadi Rum are usually the top picks.

Больше трех месяцев войны. Больше трех месяцев заложники находятся в Газе. Я все еще не собрался с силами написать на эту тему, кроме как в сторис. Да и что нового я напишу? Что террористы не имеют права на существование?

Каждые пару недель апдейтил этот пост в заметках и было «месяц войны», потом «полтора месяца войны», вот сейчас редактирую с «ровно 2 месяца войны». И совершенно неясно, сколько еще это продлится, будет ли активизация на севере и чем это все закончится. Понятно, что победой Израиля, но у победы много форматов.

Так что расскажу немного про себя ;) Мы переехали в Рамлу, обустроили квартиру, внезапно здесь тихо и довольно комфортно. Раматганские пробки меня выводили из себя, иногда час ехал 3км до трассы по пути на съемки в Иерусалиме или на Мертвом Море. Правда сейчас съемок особо нет, так что это так себе аргумент, но если вдруг вернутся в былом объеме - теперь выезд из дома прямо на трассу.

Внезапно похудел на 7кг, отказавшись от сладкого, чипсов, мороженого и алкоголя. Сейчас уже не так строго, но пока стараюсь держать дефицит калорий. Почти закончил оборудовать место для спорта в бункере, купил подъемный стол, остается всем этим пользоваться 🙂 А то дорога к похудению еще долгая, все же с начала пандемии отъедался. Зато сколько одежды из Юникло снова станет комфортной! Мы тут выяснили, что размерная линейка в Азии другая, не как в Европе, и оказывается азиатский L в Юникло это M в Европе, и у меня такого много!

Собираемся в Японию снова в феврале. Пока не взяли билеты, но это самое дешевое, судя по всему, что можно сейчас купить вне Европы - за 750 баксов нормальной авиакомпанией с багажом, ну почему бы снова не слетать, посмотреть на кавайных японочек) Тем более йена все падает и падает.

Жизнь идет. 2023 год был отстойным, но если посмотреть на фотографии - неожиданно, найдется и много хорошего. Ялла!
