In the spirit of those immortal words, Team Melt is taking a much needed break to Refresh, Renew & Rekindle the creative spirit.

This evening will be our last service for this monsoon. We thank you for all the love and support during these times.

It was a privilege to keep the fire going....and while the oven may grow cool tomorrow, rest assured the fire within still burns bright.

A journey into the evolution of the Pizza.

Did you know that Don Raffaele Esposito is considered by some as the father of modern pizza?

In 1889, the Italian King Umberto I and Queen Margherita of Savoy visited Naples. Legend has it that Queen Margherita wanted the best local food Naples had to offer and their royal chef knew Raffaele Esposito, a well known Pizzaiolo & owner of Pizzeria di Pietro.

Esposito brought out three pizzas! One with garlic or pizza marinara and another with anchovies. But the queen Queen Margherita’s favorite consisted of but three simple ingredients: mozzarella cheese, basil, and fresh tomatoes. The white cheese, green basil, and red tomato were said to represent the colors of the Italian flag. Thus came about the famous Pizza Margherita, dedicated to the queen.

This is the only known photo of Don Raffaele Esposito - father of modern pizza and credited for making the first pizza delivery.

We at Melt are happy to be a part of and continue this 120+ year old tradition.
