BLACK BOX INDIA DANCE is excited to announce its first Irish Dance Workshop with Kumar. Archana is one of the early adopters of Irish Dance in India and has been trained by seasoned Irish Dancers from World Irish Dance Association India Chapter (WIDA).

There are two types of Irish dancing shoes; soft shoes and hard shoes. Girls' soft shoes are black leather with long laces that wrap around the foot. They are similar to ballet slippers. Boys' soft shoes are similar to jazz dance shoes but have a raised heel. The heel makes the sound when the boys stamp and click while dancing.

Hard shoes are leather shoes with raised tips and heels that are covered in fiberglass to make a “tapping” noise when dancing. Irish Dancers usually don’t get into hard shoe dancing until the end of the second or beginning of their third year.
