Big shoutout to Anil , the master carpenter, and Saad , the exceptional knife forger, for bringing my vision to life! 🙌
I could have easily sourced these, especially the rolling pins and the cleaver, directly from Japan. But I wanted to explore the incredible talent we have here in India. At a time when the world is shifting toward mass manufacturing and mass production, there are still a few artisans who put their heads down, stay true to their craft, and give their absolute best. I’m so glad I found them.
Despite being experts in their fields, this project was a new challenge for them. My specifications demanded precision and attention to detail, inspired by the unparalleled standards of Japanese craftsmanship. They not only stepped out of their comfort zones but also exceeded all my expectations!

• Soba kneading board (Men-dai - 麺台)
• Chopping board (Manaita - まな板)
• Rolling pins (Menbo - 麺棒)
• Rolling pin stand (Menbo-tate - 麺棒立て)
• Soba cutting guide (Komaita - 小ま板)
• Soba cleaver (Sobakiri - 蕎麦切り包丁)
Every tiny detail was addressed with perfection, and the end result is nothing short of stunning. This journey has been about pushing boundaries, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to collaborate with.
