Respected alumnus,

For a hundred long years, the Shakespeare Society has been an intrinsic part of the hallowed halls of St. Stephen's. Through the tumultuous decades of the 20th century, through the pandemic, ShakeSoc has remained strong, returning again and again to claim centre stage under the dazzling spotlights of College Hall.

While the contribution of the brilliant individuals such as Rev. Padley, C.B. Young and Principal Rajpal nourished the society in its initial years, the sustained growth and flourishing nature of ShakeSoc would not have been possible without each and every one of the junior members that devoted their time and effort to the Society.

In recognition of the same and to recognise what we as members have, in turn, received from our time in ShakeSoc, we wish to release a Centenary Playbill, documenting anecdotes, photographs and memories from across the years. We would be extremely grateful for your contribution to the same.

To facilitate the same, we have created the following Google form for you to fill:

https://forms.gle/eb5tJkbSeWnJD2DS8

We request you to forward the same link in your class/batch groups as we await your response with much enthusiasm.

Greetings penguins!

The Shakespeare Society is here to make your Saturday better with the announcement of our Annual Production! โœจ

The Annual Production has historically been one of the Shakespeare Society's most anticipated events, and since this is also the Society's first offline production in two years, we aspire to involve as many people as possible. To help you understand how you can be a part of the Annual Production,
we are holding an Orientation on:
28th February, Monday at 4 PM in Room B.

There is no prior experience in theatre required for being a part of the annual production. Come learn about how you can take part- be it lights, sound, music, makeup and costume, set design acting or directing!

We are super excited to start working with you all and we'll also (try) help you fight Monday blues๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ.

For any further queries, please contact:
Shania- +91 74069 99461
John- +91 96744 89375

P.S.- There is something for everyone- so those who are looking for their calling,
Shakesoc welcomes you with an open heart!

Plus, some exercises and you get to ask questions too!๐Ÿ’—

This session is open to all colleges, but limited spots are available so register now!!

Date: 29th January
Time: 5pm
Venue: Zoom

Hereโ€™s the thing. I canโ€™t tell whatโ€™s real and what isnโ€™t anymore. Itโ€™s not as dramatic as it sounds. But sometimes, I feel like Iโ€™m trapped inside aโ€ฆa film. Like Iโ€™m outside my body.

The lockdown forced all of us to deal with emotions we'd usually rather push to the side - discontent, grief, overwhelming boredom. When you're forced to keep yourself company, is it easier or harder to lie to yourself?

Watch Riya try to navigate the murky waters of self-isolation, personhood and romance in The Shakespeare Society's Annual (Online) Production- A Plagued Journey, an original play based on the entire text of Maya Angelou's poem of the same name, premiering April 4th at 5:30 p.m on Zoom!

Do register for the show through the Google form provided! (zoom meeting link would be sent one day prior to the performance.)

Please note that the event is open to folx from all institutions.
