The Theater Olympics also offers something to watch for the youngest (from 6 months to 6 years): June 9-11, 2023. six performances of the Senses International Festival, all of which are related to sensory perception. Before another downpour was about to fall, children and their parents ran into the Kolibri Theater, the organizer of the festival, just in time to see the opening performance of Indian Theater I-Entertainment's festival, Colors (Yeh Dunia Rangeen). And if the heavens didn't provide sunshine, the creators did it for them.
Two actors: Imran Khan (who is also the director of the show) and Riya Panwar in black dresses, standing in the middle of a black circle, welcomed the viewers. From this black circle, they conjured up a rainbow-colored sun at the end of the performance. Everyday foods and objects added their color: the yellow of a lemon, the red of an apple, the purple of an eggplant.
The performance, structured with a clear dramaturgy, moved from basic colors to mixed colors. Each colored ray of the sun was connected to some kind of game: this is how the blue shroud became a puppet-like figure after it was rolled up, and the threatening lion could be taken down with an apple, it was enough to put it in its mouth.
Traditional Indian dance steps also appeared in the choreography, adding arm and leg rattles to the soundscape, which was partly built up from sound fragments and noises. The two actors created "dialogues" out of sounds and movements, taking advantage of the inherent humor possibilities. They were present paying attention to each other and to the audience. The otherwise non-verbal game was not without its educational purpose either, at the end of the performance the actors repeated the names of the colors several times - this time not only in English, but also in Hungarian.

The mixed colors were created by mixing different colored powders into each other, and the game that followed the performance was also related to this: the children could pour the grains of sand-like powder into each other from small bowls, quickly turning the stage into a colorful sandbox. (As we learned, the colored "sand" was made from ground rice, so there was no need to worry even if the child tasted it.)

It was interesting to see how differently even children of roughly the same age reacted to the game. (The creators recommend it for one-year-olds.) There were those who perhaps even forgot to blink, followed with such intense attention, and there were those who were more tied down by the other children. However, everyone was happy to join in the game that followed the performance.
