Bewitching Your Taste Buds
Once upon a time, I loved watching mom bake at home. I’d spend time churning the batter with a wooden spoon, arms about to give up and mom adding a scoopful of flour time to time making it tougher. She has baked birthday cakes for all of the family members numerous times and I remember guests eagerly looking forward to having a slice of her famous coffee cake with Italian meringue. That's right, the classic Italian meringue was a hit always! She did not need any baking measurement device but her cakes were always perfect. A compliment I would never forget, someone walked into the house and with a smile said, "This house smells of sugar and spice"
I finally tried my hand at baking, for family, especially during Christmas, and it turned out pretty well amidst trial and errors. I realized that my “fun” time was not so relaxing, turned out is not so easy, it is about being fast, efficient, and consistent. You’re executing the same recipes over and over again. If you accidentally use baking powder instead of baking soda or use another brand of an ingredient, then you are likely to throw away hundreds worth of product. It’s hard work, no doubt but as they say, practice makes perfect and then, in time, it'll be a "piece of cake! " But that's another story because mom was also really good at savory dishes too and you would nod your head in approval of her savory recipes, which, fortunately for you and I, has been passed down to a handful of the family, I, being one of them. There are some signature dishes that I wish to share with you, hence, this venture started and in order to be successful, it relies on me being consistent and giving a whole lot of love and effort.
