Join us on an unforgettable road trip from Delhi to Harsil Valley - a lesser known hamlet in Uttarakhand. We embarked on this adventure, dividing our journey into two days. We set off towards Chamba in Uttarakhand on day one. The smooth roads made our drive enjoyable and hassle-free. On the second day, we continued our expedition from Chamba to Harsil. Our accommodation at the exquisite Prakriti Retreat provided us with mesmerizing views from the balcony, allowing us to witness a breathtaking sunset and unwind by the serene banks of the Bhagirathi River flowing just behind the hotel. To our delightful surprise, the atmosphere suddenly transformed as an unexpected snowfall painted Harsil into a magical winter wonderland. This hidden gem along the path to Gangotri proved to be the perfect summer escape from Delhi, leaving us with unforgettable memories.

New Blog Alert: West Bengal Mango Mela 2023 - The West Bengal Mango Mela is an annual event that takes place in Delhi in the summer. The mela features a variety of mangoes from different parts of West Bengal, including Himsagar, Amrapali, and Lengra. Visitors can sample a variety of mangoes, as well as purchase them to take home. In addition to mangoes, the mela also features stalls selling handloom and handicraft products from West Bengal. The mela is a great way to experience the culture and cuisine of West Bengal, and it's also a great place to find delicious mangoes.

The mela is open from 11am to 8pm from June 5 to 19, 2023.
Admission is free.

Join us on a walkthrough of the Modhera Sun Temple, a UNESCO Heritage Site and a hidden gem of Gujarat. This temple is one of the few surviving Sun Temples in the world. We arrived just before sunset and only had half an hour to explore the temple's interior, leaving us disappointed that we couldn't experience its full glory. However, as the sun set, the temple was illuminated with lights, transforming it into a breathtaking Bhansali movie set. This unexpected turn of events turned out to be a blessing in disguise, allowing us to witness the temple's beauty both in daylight and at night.

At the ongoing New Delhi World Book Fair 2023 held at Pragati Maidan, we were reminded of the beauty of books and how they can transport us to different worlds without ever leaving our seats. The fair hosted numerous book publishers who set up their stalls to offer a wide range of books. The Author's Corner hosted author interactions and live book reading sessions. Those who weren't avid readers could still enjoy comics, cookery books, stationery, selfie stations, and food stalls. The Book Fair provided a great opportunity to explore best-selling and new authors from various genres.

The fair is from 25th February to 5th March at Pragati Maidan, with a ticket price of Rs. 20 per person, which can be purchased online. The nearest metro station to the Book Fair is Supreme Court, from where shuttles are available to transport visitors to the Halls for the book fair. Time stood still for us when we were finally at the Great Rann of Kutch and we were plain dumbfounded. We looked at the horizon and it was nothing like what we had seen before. It was sunset time and the white salt desert almost merged with the sky with the soft hues of the evening sun casting a warm glow. It was like mixing gold and silver in the palette called nature. One of our finest experiences of traveling Gujarat, the ethereal sunset at Rann of Kutch was undoubtedly an uplifting experience.

The earthquake of January 2001 was one of the worst earthquakes in Indian history and the Bhuj region was severely hit by that. Ludiya was one such village in Bhuj that suffered heavy devastation. But, like the proverbial Sphinx that rises from the ashes, Bhuj was reconstructed bit by bit under a hybrid model of private-public cooperation. After resettlement, Ludiya village got a new name-"Gandhi nu Gam". It is home to the chiefly pastoral Meghwal community that hails from neighbouring Rajasthan. Rann Utsav is not limited to the tent city. There are many day trips from Rann Utsav. Kala Dungar is the highest point at the Rann of Kutch. It was an hour’s drive from the Rann Utsav Tent City. We got a beautiful view of the Rann from the hilltop. This area is a mere 50 km from the Pakistan border. We saw the Dattatreya temple and hiked up from the base to the hilltop. While the view was fantastic, a musician singing local songs blew our minds. He made Kala Dungar a high point of our visit as well.

In short, if you want to buy something or even do a recce, this is the place. What we shopped for this year was Gujarati ornaments, Snaanam bath products, Cotton based clothing items from Khadi, Calicut Halwa from Kerala stall, Agarbattis and soaps from Mysore Sandal, and much more.
