Sharad Kumar is a known face to everyone. He made India proud by winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020 in the T42 event. Despite his physical disabilities, he started his journey at the 2010 Asian Para Games. In the next 2014 Asian Para Games, he broke a 12-year record by winning gold at the event. He participated in the Rio Paralympic games in 2016 but finished in the sixth position. But he didn’t sit back and prepare himself for the Tokyo Event. As a young child, Sharad contracted Polio which was followed by paralysis after being given the wrong drug during a polio eradication drive. However, he challenged all the obstacles that came into his path. With the motivation of his brother he moved forward in the high jump event and never looked back. At Present, Sharad Kumar holds the world’s number one in the T42 high jump event. He continues to inspire millions of people with disabilities to achieve their goals
