All you need to know about Corona Virus Outbreak.
Corona Virus:-
The corona virus causes illnesses ranging from the common cold to acute respiratory syndromes. Common symptoms include respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, according to the WHO. The WHO has declared the corona virus epidemic as a global health emergency.
After corona virus outbreak 60 cases has been reported in India till date. Indian government has taken certain measures to stop this virus from spreading up.
Measures Taken:-
1.India has issued a fresh travel advisory to avoid non-essential travel to Korea, Iran and Italy, in addition to China.
2.The govt has suspended all regular visas/e-visas granted on or before March 3 to nationals of Italy, Iran, South Korea, Japan who have not yet entered India.
3.Goverment brought back 119 Indians and five foreign nationals from Japan after evacuation.
4.Most of flights to affected areas are temporarily suspended.
5.Telangana has allocated Rs 100 crore for preventing and containing a possible outbreak.
6.Over 25,738 passengers have been brought under community surveillance.
Where are screening wards in India?:-
The virus can be tested in a laboratory through a Real Time-PCR, followed by gene fingerprinting. In India, 15 labs are functional to test the novel coronavirus so far. "Nineteen will be made operational soon," said Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.
So far, specimens of suspected novel corona virus patients are tested at the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Delhi, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)’s laboratories at Alappuzha, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai, besides the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune. All these labs are work under the guidance of NIV.
