Dear Sir/Madam,

The Event Industry certainly helps in the country’s GDP in direct and indirect means of growth Hwvr it is really sad we are a neglected lot always.

More often it is seasonal than a continuous flow of work. Whichever govt which is in power doesn’t even consider to be a industry of value.

There are already so many permissions that are exorbitant and many client just shun an event due to the additional cost towards a event.

Then there is GST which is a major hindrance, in many cases the govt makes more money at 18% GST and later in the yearly Income Tax than the event company. Due to competitions, no unity between the companies and no kind of unions like the movie industry we are cutting each other in all ways and certainly the client it the winner. One more thing to add to this a Event Management company personnel work mentally and are physically present in every event giving so many work hours and makes a paltry percent due to competition who is at times lesser than the GST too and without anyone from the govt physically or mentally present the govt makes 18% GST. Ideally it should the event companies should be making more than the taxes paid.

Then there are clients who want the best of everything with a budget of 1900’s.

Hwvr there are people who have invested in inventory and other overheads who feel that it’s better to do some work rather than keep all of it idle. So these clients think that every event company can offer these rates. It’s not that, the company who is providing it unwillingly he is just doing it bcoz he can’t let his fully loaded ship sink with hit overhead burdens.

Client have a heart we too are slogging are arse’s out. Be reasonable with your approach to event companies with atleast a substantial budget instead of outrageous budgets which some really do. These want everything under the sun for their paltry sum called budget.

During this time when there are corporates who have to the work from home option. What about people like us who run Event companies which is more of ground work field operation and productions what do we do at times like these.

Already we have a slack period of 4 to 5 months during the rains and this untimely unprecedented lockdown will add up to our burdens.

Then we don’t have any kind of certainty with payments from clients even after doing a good job at times there are clients who cheat or rather look for an opportunity to cut money in the final billing. Why don’t we have a system in place where in Event companies are secured with payments from clients after events with a stipulated time period. In some cases money is recovered after a year after getting paid in bits and parts. What’s the point getting paid in bits and parts or after a year. Ain’t there a whole lot of payments that a event company have to make after the event is done or do we have a money plant which we just have to pluck and pay vendors. Why don’t we have a law in this country that no only in events Hwvr in all industries why is payment delayed to such a extent that some people have to shut shop for no fault of theirs. If a event company goofs up with a event it’s right and just for the client to cut money Hwvr don’t try and find opportunities even if there aren’t any.

What is the govt going to do for people like us. We certainly are one of the best tax paying companies in India. Is this govt going to give us any respite or we going to be on our own....

Don’t kill us completely we also need help. We also have company expenses, families expenses, medical bills , EMI’s , company loan’s, groceries, other essential, and a list of other payments to taken care. What should we do or rather where should we head to?

We the event managers certainly like our profession and chose this as apt profession for ourself. We certainly like our work and way it Is done, However don’t kill us with all the above. We are happy as Event Managers.

Hope this reaches some sensible men in power to take care of a industry which will die eventually bcoz of govt policies and taxes.
