Yes, it's true. In Indian classical music, there are specific raagas that are associated with different times of the day, seasons, and even weather conditions. For the monsoon season, raagas like Malhar, Megh, Miya Malhar, Ramdasi Malhar, Des, and Gaud Malhar are often performed. These raagas are believed to evoke the mood and ambiance of the monsoons.

The sound produced by this instrument is perhaps the most melodious and soothing sound. Traditionally, artistes used metal bowls for this art. With the advent of china clay, china bowls were essentially used. By varying the volume of water in the bowls, sounds of varying frequencies could be produced by tapping the brim of the bowl using wooden sticks. The bowls are placed in a semi-circle around the artist.

One of the oldest instruments in the world ‘Jal-tarang’ comes from ‘Jal’ meaning water, and ‘tarang’ that connotes to the "waves in water". Jal-tarang is an ancient Indian wave instrument which continues to play till today in the Indian classical music repertoire to produce both ‘Ragas’ and light melodies.

Algoja, a musical instrument commonly used by pastoralist communities, is a set of end-blown double flutes. This unique instrument is comprised of two flutes, each equipped with six finger holes.

The player holds one flute in each hand, maintaining a vertical position, and uses three fingers on each flute to play. One flute produces the melodic notes, while the other creates a continuous drone sound.
