12/12/2023

On the occasion of 15th foundation day of AIPA, let us greet each n every player of Pickleball in India. It was on this day, i.e. 12th December, 2008 that AIPA as an organisation was formed by Mr Sunil Valavalkar and his team to propagate the sport in Mumbai and later on across India. AIPA has faced many challenges on its way but it has withered all the storm and has stood tall as a formidable organisation governing the Pickleball sport in India. AIPA wishes to thank all the people who were associated with it in its beginning journey, are associated currently and will associate in future. Each person has added immense value to its growth and the same is deeply appreciated.

AIPA wishes to thank the players who have excelled in the sport and are bringing fame to India by winning at International events. Also, the players who have been constantly participating in events and growing as a player after each outing.

AIPA is not only happy to be pioneer of introducing Pickleball in India since year 2007-2008 but is also proud to be a lawful and process driven organisation which has been credited for many first's in the field of Pickleball.

There are many achievements accomplished by AIPA during these years. It has organised 7 Nationals, 3 National Ranking Tournament, 4 International events including the prestigious Bainbridge Cup, 2 leagues, team events, 10 private sanctioned tournaments, 1 Federation Cup, participation in 15 Road shows and 6 sports expos, organising referee and coaches clinic, organising training programmes to India team participating in International events, strong digital presence, hundreds of press and media coverage, sponsorship programme for around 20 players and many more such achievements.

In all humbleness, AIPA wishes to offer credit of all these achievements to persons, players and also officials of all State Associations who have stood by us through thick and thin.

Despite many such landmarks and remarkable achievements, AIPA will never feel complacent and keep working hard towards making the organisation more stronger and work for the grassroot development of the sport.

AIPA is equally concerned about growing divisions and commercialisation of the sport. Since AIPA and Pickleball in India are entering into the 16th year which will be a crucial year, hence AIPA appeals to every present player to guard against likely malpractices and unhealthy practices carried out by vested interest.

AIPA under the leadership of Shri Arvind Prabhoo, believes in organic growth and has future plans in place for the benefit of all stakeholders, be it the players, officials, coaches, referee etc hence let us pledge ourselves to support Mr Prabhoo and do everything possible to protect the soul of the sport and offer this beautiful game to newcomers.

AIPA once again congratulates all players and officials - A VERY HAPPY FOUNDATION DAY!!!.

All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) and its affliated State Units have always believed in grass root development of the sport across the country. The vision of AIPA is to have more than 5 million Pickleball players in India in the next 5 years. With this mission in mind, AIPA and its affiliated State Units have decided to move ahead with fresh vigour and enthusiasm.

AIPA’s affiliated State Unit, the Bengal Pickleball Association, in collaboration with East India Pickleball, took part in the SportsExpo held in Milan Mela Exhibition ground at Kolkata from 1st to 3rd December, 2023. The aim was simple, to introduce this wonderful sport to the people visiting the Sports Expo. During this three day event, more than 10,000 people visited the Pickleball arena and around 1000 people tried their hand at Pickleball. This event will help in the proliferation of the Pickleball sport in Kolkata and other parts of West Bengal in the coming days.

AIPA congratulates Mr Vineet Bhandari and his Bengal Pickleball Association team for this wonderful initiative.

AIPA, whole heartily welcomes the joint statement issued by both the International Governing bodies of Pickleball, viz. International Pickleball Federaton (IPF) and World Pickleball Federation (WPF).

Considering the wider interest of the sport and safe keeping the future of players, it is a prudent decision on the part of both the governing bodies to come together on common grounds, which we are sure is the first step towards unification.

From the beginning, AIPA is of the firm opinion that new sports like Pickleball will reach to grass root level only when there is a single governing body. One Sport- One Country-One Organization, is a universally accepted principle in the sporting sector. AIPA has always demonstrated faith in this rule through its working and hence AIPA would like to thank both the leaders of IPF and WPF, for reinforcing their commitment towards healthy growth of the sport.

Through this joint statement, the World Governing bodies have clearly indicated their future plans. Going forward, players of Pickleball across the world must stand united behind the underlying spirit of this development.

Once again AIPA wish to thank our Chairman, Mr Arvind Prabhoo and President of WPF, Mr Rif Symore for having undertaken a series of discussions to arrive at such a historic Joint Statement. This will usher in a host of new opportunities at World level for all the stake holders and will be moving in the right direction towards our vision of getting this sport into Olympic games. The next step is for the National bodies in India to come together under one umbrella and work towards grass-root development of the game and work together to get the required recognition from the government.

15/10/2023

Ever since it's inception, All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) has given highest priority to Diginty of labour which is also mentioned in its core value statement.

Dignity of labour means respect and value given to all forms of work. It refers to equal respect towards the jobs that also involves manual labour.

When the entire humanity is facing the growing challenge of Artifical Intiligence (AI), it has become more important to re-emphasise our faith in dignity of labor.

Every form of sports, is a laborious process and pickleball is no exception to this thumb rule.

Every player of Pickleball becomes champion by putting his/ her sweat, displaying their skills with the help of their paddles and reaching the pinnacle of success. Hence, paddles are revered by each Pickleball player as their means of success.

Paddles of Pickleball are considered as instruments of happiness and health and every year on the auspicious day of Dussehra, AIPA performs a symbolic Pooja of it's weaponry i.e Paddle Pooja.

AIPA had started the practice of 'Paddle Pooja' since 2010 and each year this tradition is getting wider acceptance from the players and officials associated with this sport.

Keeping this tradition of Paddle pooja alive, let us celebrate and offer gratitude towards our Paddles, on this Dussehra on 24th October 2023 (Tuesday) at our respective courts.
