We're overflowing with gratitude after an unforgettable PechaKucha Goa Vol. 51, where love stories were beautifully narrated through poetry and song. A huge thank you to all who made the night special. Our eight speakers were nothing short of captivating, sharing their passion and stories with us. Immense appreciation to 'The Park, Calangute', and Saurabh Khanna, for their exceptional hospitality. What an incredible journey it has been! Celebrating our 5th birthday and the 50th edition at PechaKucha Goa was an absolute blast. The energy was electric, the venue a dream, and our speakers outdid themselves.

SPEAKER IN FOCUS
BIPASHA SEN GUPTA
Bipasha is a visual and ceramic artist who has been practising for the last 15 years. She takes her inspiration from the environment, especially the sea, and believes in conserving it through her art.
Through art, Bipasha has worked with many countries and state governments on environmental issues. Her pieces are in proud possession in many governmental and personal spaces, including corporate offices.
She now has a pottery studio in Saligao, where she works and teaches.

STORY
Introduction to ceramics and generating an awareness about the art so that learning is imparted and love for the same grows, which brings communities together.

TED COUNTDOWN is a global initiative addressing the climate crisis through inspiring talks and actionable solutions. Bringing together thought leaders, innovators, and activists, Countdown focuses on urgent climate challenges and offers tangible steps for a sustainable future.

TEDx Margao is organising a Hybrid gathering featuring live speakers alongside screenings of presentations from the recent TED COUNTDOWN in Detroit, USA.

There will also be a live performance by the band called MANDOVI -The Bamboo Instruments Band.

Tallulah is a social architect and activist championing environmental conservation and building with mud, bamboo, and waste materials by engaging students and youth.
Tallulah will speak about Architecture, activism and advocacy.

2. DEEPA SUBRAMANIAM-SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR
With over twenty years of leadership in Fashion Retail, Deepa has seamlessly transitioned into Social Entrepreneurship. With a rich background managing Private Label Brands, Departmental Stores, and International Franchises worldwide, her proficiency extends across Apparel, Footwear, Accessories, and Body Care products. Her focus aligns with a quest for conscious consumption and reducing environmental impact. She is now leveraging her past career skills of Analytics for Buying and merchandising, BI tools, Product Development, Vendor Relations, and SCM solutions into her sustainability startup - Woodygrass – a platform for artisanal handmade bamboo furniture and interiors.
Deepa will talk about 'Promoting conscious consumption involves informed choices, favouring alternative materials like bamboo to mitigate environmental impact, contrasting with high CO2 commercial materials'.

Ana Margarida Esteves is a Portuguese Artist who embraces the silver lining between art and design with functional and poetic concepts.
Ana is the founder of Mar Salgado (salted sea). This project encourages people to look at Nature differently by designing products from the raw elements, integrating drift and abandoned wood and brass, and making all its imperfections stand out beautifully.

PREMISE
The Portuguese perspective about the sea as an essential cultural element, its metaphors and how it inspires the artwork and process.
