We are excited to announce that Limboo Tours and Travels has successfully organized the Pass and Pass Trek on January 11, 2025. This trek marks a significant milestone as it has been 4th times attempt in nine years to make it successfully and we finally achieved this incredible journey during the winter season!

The expedition offered breathtaking views, challenging terrains, and the serene beauty of Mt. Kanchenjunga Mt Pandim Mt Kabru winter landscapes. Participants experienced the unique charm of the Himalayas, enhancing their love for trekking and adventures.

Your dedication, teamwork, and passion for adventure were crucial in making this experience memorable. Sikkim Achieves a Remarkable Milestone in Women Empowerment and International Careers
Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), the State has achieved another milestone in women empowerment and enhanced economic opportunities in non-farm sector. Through the Sikkim INSPIRES Program, 13 women nurses, who have been trained in German language in Kerala have secured placements in Germany’s healthcare sector. They are set to travel to Germany by March 2025, the first 04 of them by the end of January. This achievement holds special significance as the Hon’ble Chief Minister personally felicitated them from the stage of the Maghey Sankranti Mela on 14th January 2025 at Jorethang, being also an event marking the golden jubilee celebration of Sikkim’s Statehood under the Indian Union.
The German language training is a joint effort of the Skill Development Department, Commerce & Industries Department and Planning & Development Department. This remarkable initiative underscores the State’s unwavering commitment to empowering women, fostering international career pathways, and showcasing the exceptional talent of Sikkim on a global platform. It also reflects the dedication of the Skill Development Department to equipping youth with relevant skills and opening doors to transformative opportunities.
The Sikkim INSPIRES (Integrated Service Provision and Innovation for Reviving Economies) Program is a flagship initiative of the Government of Sikkim, designed to enhance the employability of the State’s youth and foster global partnerships for skill-driven economic growth in non-farm sectors.
The journey of these 13 women nurses exemplifies resilience, determination, and a commitment to excellence, serving as an inspiration for many others in Sikkim to dream big and achieve global recognition.
Similarly, 07 outstanding alumni trained under various schemes under Skill Development Department who are now employed in prestigious organizations or are self-employed in their own right were felicitated during the same event by the Hon’ble Chief Minister. Remarkably, these alumni are an example of empowerment of underprivileged women, school drop-outs and such like and their mainstreaming in the job market.

Earlier today, I had the pleasure of meeting a delegation from the Yuma Mang Meditation Centre, led by its President, Shri Teng Hang Limboo, along with other distinguished members of the Centre, at my official residence.

During their visit, they graciously extended a formal invitation for me to be the Chief Guest at the grand opening ceremony of the Lebunba Pungwa Ne Ing Yuk Him (Yuma Mang-Him) in Darap, West Sikkim, scheduled for next month. I am deeply grateful for their thoughtful gesture and the warm invitation, and I sincerely appreciate their efforts to uphold and promote our rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

Foundation Stone Laid for Sandhya Aarati Sthaal at Nayabazar-Jorethang on the occasion of Maghey Sankranti Mela 2025

Namchi, 14th January 2025 (IPR): The foundation stone for the Sandhya Aarati Sthaal under the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department was laid by the Governor of Sikkim Mr Om Prakash Mathur, along with Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang and Madam Krishna Rai at Nayabazar-Jorethang, in Soreng District, today.

The event commenced with a holy aarti performed by the Governor and the Chief Minister on the confluence of River Rangeet and Ramman adding a spiritual touch to the occasion.

This sacred ceremony was also attended by Ms Rajkumari Thapa Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Mr T T Bhutia Minister for the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, and Mr Arun Upreti Minister for Rural Development, among other esteemed dignitaries.

Governor inaugurates SARAS Trade Fair.

Namchi, January 14 (IPR): The Governor of Sikkim, Mr Om Prakash Mathur, inaugurated the 14th Sikkim SARAS (Sikkim Sale of Articles of Rural Artisans Society) Trade Fair, 2025, at the opening day of Jorethang Maghey Sankranti Mela, here at Jorethang, today.

The Governor was accompanied by Mr Prem Singh Tamang, the Chief Minister of Sikkim as the Guest of Honour. Present amongst others were, Madam Krishna Rai alongwith Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Advisors, Chairpersons and other Officers and officials from the Government of Sikkim.

The trade fair is organised by Sikkim Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM), Rural Development Department, Government of Sikkim and is sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, starting from 14th January till 23rd January, 2025.

The fair showcases exhibition cm sale of products like handlooms, handicrafts, organic products and much more, all crafted and produced by Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Sikkim and from other states.

On the auspicious occasion of Maghey Sankranti, Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, the Governor of Sikkim, and Mr. Prem Singh Tamang, the Chief Minister of Sikkim, offered prayers at the Trikaleshwar Temple in Jorethang today. They prayed for the
well-being, prosperity, peace, and harmony of the people of Sikkim.

Present during were, Madam Krishna Rai, along with Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Advisors, Chairpersons, and other officials from the Government of Sikkim.

Following the prayers, the Governor and the Chief Minister will inaugurate the Jorethang Maghey Sankranti Mela 2025, which begins today and will conclude on January 21, 2025.
