No better testimony to the fact that good food is bridge to long term friendships. I had my favourite guests from over. I used serve them Biryanis and Curries there, and once they knew I have reopened with Misal, they visited to relish it right at the start of my new innings. Thanks Mani and Ankita for gracing my food truck yet again, sounds too formal, right, toh ab firse jaldi aana, thanks a lot for your presence and continued support. I loved chatting up yet again.

Those summer vacations at my native place were always so special. If some year it was about that hearty scoop of pista icecream at the next year it would be a climb atop the hill amongst . My grandmother was a great cook, and the reasons I say that is coz the knew how to get the best out of even the leftovers. So, the stones/seeds of particularly sour mangoes would be collected to cook up a Mystique Dal/Lentil Curry. I could smell the tangy sweet aroma that they impart to the Dal from a few yards away while playing with my cousins. We call it "Aambat Varan" which is a generic name for all dals which have a souring agent, but this one is way beyond. Aaji is no more, but now I know how to cook.

Kadah Prasad also known as Ghau no Sheero in Gujarat and Gavhacha shira in Maharashtra is packed with that punch of slow energy release that a humble, cost effective, local breakfast should endow. I use local jaggery and milk everytime, for that extra richness and better GI with better nutritive values. Good amount of Ghee ensures that your day starts with good fats.
