◼️Contestant Name : Hemant satappa Powar .hemantpowar
◼️Location - Kanjur East, Mumbai
◼️Category- EcoFriendly Ganesh Murti
◼️Theme Details - Description in english :- With all the new tread of making eco-friendly Ganesh idols this year, I came up with the easiest recyclable material of all- Paper
Entire set up and decorations are done with paper using different techniques.
For eg,
1. A basic technique of origami is used to make a small module which is then interlocked to form different parts of the Ganesh idol. Approximately 5000 pieces are just used for the main idol.
2. Some 2-dimensional shapes like ears, made with this module are carefully attached in a curved fashion to create a 3d effect.
3. The ornaments are made by paper quilling technique.
4. MODAK is formed by a simple folding technique.
5. The color of the paper is carefully selected to form variation and highlight different parts of the body (Ears and trunk).
6. Garland which is usually made of a marigold flower is crafted with crape paper.
7. Crown is again made by layering different colored papers to create richness and depth. The ring made by paper quilling adds more value and detail to this crown.
8. Other details such as eyes, teeka, bangles, etc are precisely drawn and attached to the body. A beautiful lace acts as dhoti for this paper Ganesh.
The entire idol is then set on a table decorated with curtains and lights.
For the visarjan we have come up with the new concept of remodeling and reusing the paper modules and transforming them into some other decoration piece with 3d origami such as origami peacock or flower vase. Thus this Ganpati idol and its decoration becomes totally ecofriendly in a unique way.
