Every Art has a science and every Science is an art! Contrary to the common belief, excelling in Sports and Artistic activities requires a lot of intelligence. On the other hand, pursuing such activities actually stimulates thinking and invigorates cerebral functioning. Many successful professionals are great artistes too and several celebrated artistes are highly qualified scholars! I do not look
upon the Cultural activities as just a recreation of sort, which of course it is, but more than that, it is a boost for scientific and technical studies. I find a lot of similarity in developing a script and framing a problem, studying human characters and compiling numerical data, directing a play and designing a member and so on and so forth! The divine pleasure derived from watching a great performance and reading a good reference book are neither dissimilar! Improved awareness and control of self - body and mind, voice, grace, rhythm, awareness about religion, culture, traditions, languages, social structure, ties, relations, hierarchies, study of psychology of individuals, enhanced observation powers and logical reasoning are but a few of the innumerous gifts of pursuing some form of art. The Cultural Council of APSIT have come up with annual Cultural Festival Ojus16 with a spectrum of thrilling events! The performances, competitions and games are so planned that the festival will be equally exciting for participants and audience. I congratulate the Council and the Volunteers for their zeal, dedication, efforts and energy. This is once-in-a-life time opportunity for students and I hope to see a magnanimous participation from students’ fraternity. I wish all the participants every success!
